That sounds amazing... Are we allowed gram flour then? Cool...

Gram flour actually reduces my bs and never increases them but we're all different.
 
I make this sauce quite often as my whole family are vegetarian and it goes down a treat. I use extra strong chedder and mustard.

Im curious as to why "a splash of malt vinegar?" I've never used vinegar in a sauce before, what am I missing?
Sounds yummy I love cauliflower cheese but have never been able to make a good cheese sauce without using flour or cornflower as a thickner
 
This morning was the usual. Sunny side eggs and bacon.

Realized something as well this morning.

Background info......When my sister upgraded her kitchen, she gifted me her old fridge, which now resides in our basement to hold extras from our Costco size shopping. Our usual shopping list includes bacon....since my wife joined me on the LCHF diet, the house hold consumption is pretty high compared to before. When we purchase a new 4 pack at a Costco trip, it ends up in the basement fridge.

This morning on heading down a grabbing a pack for the kitchen fridge......it dawned on me..."We have a bacon drawer in the fridge.....with just bacon....up to 6kg at any one time in inventory".

How life has changed........ A dedicated bacon drawer......

It was probably the buckwheat... can't do grains... make your cheese sauce with an egg yolk, cream and creme fraiche... much nicer too... plenty of English mustard and, indeed, a splash of apple cider vinegar... oh, and a grating of fresh nutmeg... lush...
 
Im the same when I open a can, I never can use it all... This is much better

So how much of powder do you think I should add to a glass of water, to make coconut milk? About 1 tablespoon or is that too much?
Like the lady said, just add a bit till it tastes right...

Thank you Rose... I will definitely try it - and I always test new food... it sounds lovely...

(I can only do pulses and legumes in small quantities...)
I think me too really, but it will not hurt me to try... I've been leaving so much stuff out for fear of a spike... time to test all sorts I think...
 
As it happens, I'm making a cider, mustard and cream sauce to go with roast pork tonight. Buckwheat is fine for me -- it's related to sorrel and rhubarb and isn't a grain as in grass. We shall see in a due course what it does!

*edit* 5.7 before, 5.5 two hours after. So buckwheat is fine but no more skim milk sauces. Plus I think I'll stop having full cream milk in my coffee, since I drink a lot.

Sounds gorgeous... I cannot do buckwheat sadly... Buckwheat pancakes are really good... Soy flour works with some things though...
 
Fasting glucose 10 today, that's better than yesterday.
Greek yogurt, blueberries
Green tea (yuk!)
Mozzarella balls, toms and basil
Scrambled eggs, chipolatas, mushrooms, watercress
2 cups of tea
Lots of water
starving! I think I need to balance the calories at each meal a bit more? Oh and not enough veg!

Back to work tomorrow after 4 weeks off with a disc problem, diabetes was identified during this sick period, so not had to organise work meals/day yet. feeling a bit apprehensive.
 
B - 3x bacon, a poached egg, 6 mushrooms and a grilled Tomato
L - Normandy pork with spring greens
D - flak 9 bar, mini bag of pork scratching and jelly and cream
S - handful of cashews
 
Seeing posts about pancakes reminded me I have had banana pancakes, obviously I have been reading that some people can't tolerate bananas well, but for those of you who can:-
2 eggs
1 banana
Blend and cook thin as normal pancake, maybe in butter as it tastes better than olive oil.
Great with cinnamon and Greek yogurt.
This is one portion, I think that it could be enough for two people.
Really yummy.
 
Tonight i really enjoyed my roast gammon with loads of roast veg. I did celeriac, parsnip, carrot, sweet potato, sprouts and courgette. I did enough to reheat with some of the left over gammon tomorrow night. Was very nice.
 

Just read that recipe, I'm drooling! Fat Heaven!
