Great memories
Apparantly, Somerfield was originally Gateway! Not sure if there are many Somerfields around anymore for that matter either
Haven't seen a Somerfields for yonks
I love this topic!
B... butter, 4 mushrooms, more butter, 2 eggs, 2 dozen spinach leaves, crumbled feta cheese, with side of 2 strips bacon and a coffee.
L... 7 ounce can tuna, 3 T mayonnaise, 6 bread and butter pickles - (half for today, half for tomorrow) - with two slices extra sharp cheddar melted on top; 0.35 ounce 70% cocoa chocolate; water
S... 1 red bell pepper sliced with Ranch dressing on the side; water
D... butter, saffola oil, 1 boneless pork chop, added red wine and mustard for sauce; 8 asparagus topped with sliced extra sharp cheddar; 0.35 ounce 70% cocoa chocolate; water
S... butter, egg; 2 link sausage; chamomile tea
I know this seems like a lot of food but this is Day 5 for me on the LCHF diet, and I'm trying to eat enough to not feel hungry, also to eat at least one vegetable at or between meals.
Tonight I bought 2% plain greek yogurt with active cultures. I need ideas on what to eat with it.
Try piling peanut butter in the little grooves, too...That reminds me, I would NEVER in a million years have thought to try celery with cream cheese BUT its actually quite scrummy, filling and satisfying
Well done... that's fantastic...Just had my blood test results today and it's 46 from 54 just after Christmas. That's thanks to low carb. Just thought I'd share.x
Sounds perfect to me... enjoy...B: coffeencream with lemon stracciatella cake
L: taramosalata and munchy seeds
D: baked salmon, mange touts onion bhaji and a strange DIY almost-hollandaise. Didn't have time to stop for a recipe hunt. So botched it. Fine at the time, but I'm afraid it has demogrified back into its constituent parts now. Delish though.
Tomorrow is Valentines.
Mr B has declared that the ultimate gustatory delight that he can imagine is a pub breakfast.
(It is an awesome breakfast that happens to be available in a pub...)
Looking forward to it.
I will have the omelette. Served flat, the size of a small dinner plate, with sausage, bacon, black pudding, mushrooms and grated cheese, after flash grilling.
Shouldn't need anything else til dinner. If then...
LOL my first job, aged 17, was with Gateway. Butchers assistant - Friday evening and all day Saturday. Decent pay, got myself a stereo system.
We had a dear little one just down the road, but it's a CoOp now... alright in an emergency, but not the same...Haven't seen a Somerfields for yonks
A nice sauce to go with pork: after you cook the pork and it's resting, a little white wine to de-glaze the pan so you get all the goodness, cook the alcohol off for a bit then stir in cream and wholegrain mustard...I like the red and wine mustard idea, was struggling today to make a sauce for my pork loin steak... ended up plain...
Have to confess, it's an ASDA create your own stonebake pizza, but I scrape the topping off. It's cheating really but this used to be a weekend staple for us and I couldn't bring myself to break this habit. I'm too lazy to make one but if I did it would be the cauliflour base, I will try it one day! What did you use for your pizza base?

Don't really miss the bread cause it's the topping that does it for me but I do miss having something to pick it up with e.g the base, now I have to use a knife and fork!
