Hi sorry to sound horrible but I've had the trots ever since starting a low carb diet, i thought it's supposed go the other way.

Has anyone else had this and does it settle down after a while?

Thanks

Not been a problem for me now I'm glad to say! Was only an issue due to metformin

B: Green tea with lemon. Coffee with butter whisked in (coconut oil still hasn't arrived. Greek yoghurt with ground flaxseed.
L: Leftover veggies from last night, topped with the minced beef in sauce part of a ready meal and some crumbled feta.
T: Spiced salmon with creamy vegetable curry, topped with flaked almonds and chopped coriander.
S: A few cashews, feta pieces.
D: 1 tea with semi skim milk, water

Before bed/supper: 85% dark choc bar from sainsburys, melted in warm cream.

Fasting was 5 today (but I did forget to test straight away). Busy day on the go so have not tested through day.

Ooops, I almost forgot to confess - I had a nosey in Hotel Chocolat today as I've never been in. There was a plate of salted caramel filled mini chocolates to try, so I had one, probably shouldn't have as it was on an empty stomach before lunch :eek:However nobody saw me so I don't think it counts. On reflection, I realised I could have popped it in my pocket and saved it as a treat after my lunch - must do better next time! :banghead:
Whilst in there, I also purchased a one off valentines treat for myself and Mr TP, a bar of 85% chocolate (not bad on the carbs/sugar front). They also do 100% chocolate too. Gosh it's expensive in there though :inpain:
Expensive but GORGEOUS - had it bought for me one Xmas and went on their website...didn't buy myself any......

Unfortunately I cannot have much at breakfast, a few dessert spoonfuls and even then I probably shouldn't as I am at my worst insulin resistant in the morning, it is still lactose after all. At other times though I try to limit it to what equates to under 5g net carbs, I like a spoonful just before bed, it helps me sleep better :D

I bought a new one today, it's very low in carbs (3.6 per 100g) and low in fat too. Perfect combo as I like low carb and Mr TP likes low fat. It's called Liberte'
Thanks @Tweetypie
I thought it was just me - seems almost EVERYBODY who doesn't cook breakfast has greek yoghurt. Trouble is its a 500g pot - they do a 250g one (which works out dearer so I get the big ones) but wish they would do it in the small pots like the other yoghurts. I can eat half a big pot before I've realised - I think, just a spoon or two then, hey, I'm half way down the pot.....

I too have found that I can eat some things later in the day with hardly a jump yet yet breakfast time I've started to spike.....

It is yummy, and I think I eat too much too, and also suspect this is what is stalling my weight loss :-( I use Fage Greek yoghurt which comes in 500mg tubs, and I usually eat half a tub a go.
Mine is Sainsbury's but I can easily do the same....nom, nom, nom as @DibbleS puts it :hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:

Like the post but don't think I'd like the smoothies :yuck:

LOL .... Love the green face!! :yuck::hilarious::hilarious:

Today's green smoothie really was lush... And no spike in BS... So that's always good!

Have you tried a green smoothie and not liked it or does the name of it put you off?

Have tried and liked fruit ones (now alas off the menu) but the thought s of raw veggies all whizzed up together doesn't appeal at all I'm afraid.....

The plain tesco free from range isn't sweetened and it's lovely.
I'll check in Sainsbury's then to see if they do the same. Its my corner shop.....Tesco at least 15mins drive or more - not worth the drive just for yoghurt

Yeah thats true. you might find something similar. It has to be a big tesco too they don't do it in the small ones. If you are passing one.
