PNJB - I am T2, but don't take any medication. Bearing that in mind, I would be fine to go to bed on that score, but ss you are on Gliclazide, I wouldn't like to be so definite. As you know, Gliclazide works to encourage your body to produce more insulin, to bring your bloods down.
I'm assuming you got off to bed at some point last night, so it's a bit late for that, but if you continue to have low scores at night (or other times of the day for that matter), it might be an idea to talk to whomever helps you look after your diabetes, with a consideration as to whether your medication needs to be trimmed back a bit. Now that your diet is bringing the numbers down (and very well done on that!), it could be you need a lower dosage of something you take.
Keep an eye on things, and keep a note of low readings (I'm talking about very low 4s or lower) and if there are lots of them, then pick up the phone. Whilst having something extra to eat might feel an attractive option, personally, I'm not keen on the concept of feeding the medication. I would far rather, for me, take fewer meds and not be driven to eat to manage my numbers up.
Good luck with it all. It seems like it's going well, but maybe just some tweaking required on other aspects.
