What is out of control diabetes ???

Hi all,
I keep hearing about risks to health of out of control diabetes. I know it may not be as simple as this, but as a general guidance, for a type 1 diabetic what sort of hbac1 would be classed as well controlled? And what would be not controlled ?
Any thought ?

Hi there. Controlled mean keep your bs on level ( eg btwn 6-8) during the day. Uncontrolled means you can have 5.6 on morning, 17,6 at lunchtime and 23 at evening. This situation can (and will eventually ) cause a lot of damage to your body organs, eyes liver etc.

Either going too high or too low isn't good, and swinging up and down can give you a fairly good 3 month HbA1c reading as thta is an average but it masks poor control.

Not sure as have T2. My niece have T1 and despite she's a doctor she struggling to keep the BS on level...
