What is the average no type 2 should target 5-6 mmol on daily basis ?i know it depends on factors age any other complications .. just wanted to understand those golden numbers which t2's are always looking for to make life more sweet.oops :-)))

50shades - Copy.png as I have read many different places the ideal blood glucose in between meal is around 4.5mmol , and because a normal response to raised insuline would knock blood sugar down real fast , the an ideal HbA1c would also be very close to around 4.5 / 30

but this is not what we aim for as diabetics as this would be impossible to most people to get to...

even normal non diabetic people do seem to get a higher morning number when ageing

That gives an average BG of 4.6.
I'd feel terrible, all the time.
I'm happy with a Hba1c of 37 on average

Our blood glucose levels rise naturally as we age, or so I have read and have been told. I have no idea of the science behind it (maybe older people need more energy to keep them upright!)

muscle decay starts already from 30 years old, and the decay means we have to exercise more and more to keep on the same musclemass, the capasity to store glucose in muscle cells would as I see it also grow worse and worse or less and less as the muscles get smaller and loose their stregth... unless of cause we take up the challenge and exercise our muscles to stay strong woluminous and healthier than a laizzes faire style would create

My personal aim is to have only a rise of two whole numbers after meals, without worrying about where the start point was - though naturally I would have been concerned if it was starting from 8 or 9, but I did not see that after I'd got control.
I can't afford to test all the time so tend just to check after my evening meal, and not every day, now that I have got a good idea of how foods affect me. I am usually below 7.5mmol/l, which I think is fine.
