Hello

What is the current status of smart insulin?

What is the stage of its development? Is it being tried in humans?

Also, can you outline or point me to a comprehensive review of all the methods used in smart insulin?
For example, I read that some have developed a polymer that is glucose-sensitive. Are there other mechanisms?

Thanks!

It's likely true though - the drug companies have to recoup the costs of R&D and make a whopping great profit all within the time when the new drug is in patent. Big pharma charge a lot because they have the health services by the short and curlies.

Of course, the health services can always refuse to prescribe a new drug, and if it's too expensive I think they'd take that option when existing insulins do the job well for most of us.
