What is the hardest part of coping with diabetes?

The hardest part for me is knowing I've damaged by body by not taking care of myself when I was younger - I have diseased eyes now that will never go back to normal.
Also the fact that I can't ever take my eye of the ball, first thing in the morning when I wake up it's where's my testing kit, where's my insulin pen.
And the constant fear of going hypo in situations such as work, driving etc. Even if I don't actually go hypo there's always the chance that I will.
I also find it hard that I am neither type 1 or type 2 but the medical profession largely does not understand this and insists on categorising me. I was diagnosed correctly as monogenic at one hospital, but then I moved to another that did not recognise this and insisted I was 'type 2, but functionally type 1'. So, for example I now cannot be considered for a pump because I'm not a proper type 1.
