Hi All,
First post though I have lurked for a while knowing I would need you guys one day...
So after many years of intermittent binge-eating and being overweight, I am having symptoms like needing to wee more often, feeling thirsty and tired etc. Not madly more than usual but given my diet, I would like to get it checked for T2.
My question is about testing - am I right in thinking that the fasting test is sort of the last one to show diabetes or prediabetes? Would I (can I?) ask for the HB1ac (that is not quite right, do you know the one I mean?) And do I book to see GP with concerns then Nurse for test? I have had the GTT with all three pregnancies and ‘passed’ every time, but my last baby was unexpectedly 1.5lbs heavier than both older siblings and had a larger stomach measurement at the 20 wk scan (sonography advised the GTT for this), so I am wondering now if I was getting a bit insulin resistant even then? (Three years ago).
Sorry for all the waffle! Would be so glad of any help.
