I have just had a change to my T2 medication as Metformin was not working well for me. I still take metformin but she has now added another one. She said for the next two weeks I need to test my BS levels 3 times a day. I have done the first one as I awake but I don't know what time to take the other two. Do I make the next one 2 hours after meals ? And what about the third one ? Im a bit confused. Any suggestions ?
So you can either phone up to ask when she wants you to test, or possibly do a fasting test on waking, immediately before breakfast and 2 hours afterwards, next day do fasting test then test before and after lunch, third day before and after evening meal, and repeat. You could maybe also do a few tests at bedtime instead of in the mornings. That way you should get a reasonable sample of your glucose levels over whole days.
