Been a type 2 diabetic for 40 years at least. Dad was type 1, and it seems to follow in the family.

Anyway, being a bit of a lazy and don't care too much sort of person, I have taken the medicine, and many ice creams etc all of that time. So far so good, nothing has dropped off, and ,mostly functional.. unsure of the effects after all of this time.

However, the doc has put me on Glicacide now, as well as Metformin. To my surprise, my morning reading are now in the 6's, and sometimes as low as 4.9. I use the Libre 2 monitoring system, and was also surprised to see that I had dipped below 4 during the night, no ill effects, and slept through that with no problem.

Glicacide, one tablet a day seems to have reduced the sugar levels to well under 10 for almost all of the day, occasional forays above that after a meal.

Good news I hope, though dependent on Glicacide. Really helps to reduce carbohydrates I am finding.

Lets hope I don't grow another head or other Glicacide side effect...................:)

Glass half full...
