Hi. Yes, T1.5 (LADA) is slow onset T1 typical of getting it when older. You go thru a honeymoon period when the pancreas still produces some insulin this can last years (as mine did). Taking a shot of Lantus 'after you eat' doesn't make sense as it's a 24 hr insulin. As your LADA progresses (sadly it probably will) you will be best eventually having the Basal/Bolus insulin regime with a 24 Hr Basal such as Lantus and mealtime Bolus such as NovoRapid. No, T1 or T1.5 is not reversible but keep the carbs down and you can keep the insulin and blood sugar swings at a minimum (also weight gain). The Metformin always helps just a little bit.
