What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Full of admiration for what you, your husband (hubby) and @geefull do. Also what a dilemma for you, the organisers and those attending. Since social services have been left to wither on the vine what the hell happens to the needy isolated, or even not, in this Brave New World? Art teachers, new roads and HS2 don't address that issue. Bread and circuses not carers it is then

Good morning everyone from a now dystopian dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of chicken soup and the continuous nagging from certain areas of the Dunelm collective came in at 5.4 this am

Grandaughter number one stayed over last night and one topic that cropped up at dinner last night was the impending study of that Scottish play at school. So, a graphic novel has now been ordered as a low key slide into the whacky world of murder, guilt and paranoia.

Dentist today to replace a filling that dropped into my raspberry ripple yesterday.

I do love this picture. It reminded me of an incident when our Labrador Archie was young. We rescued him at 10 months old, and to put it mildly he was a nightmare.

I had cleaned 12 Triad balls ready to use in a class (they cost £10 each then). Carefully laid them out on a clean sheet in the office and closed the door so no dogs got in.

Hadn't noticed that Archie had crept into the room. A little while later I opened the door to find every ball had been ripped apart. He looked so happy and proud of what he had done. I wasn't quite as happy.
 
It is a worry for people organising events that vulnerable people may attend.
 
The post and food choices were not the reason for the hug. I detected discomfort caused by piriformis or other part of the majestic @dunelm. If I am wrong have a hug anyhow just for being you. Hope the dentist goes well. I thought you guys from the Frozen North all had deep pockets and short arms so did your own dentistry. Dentist bills are fun. No crackling for you young man.

We're back now & madam Lola got a fairly good report...back in two weeks for another check up my wallet is taking a real battering but at least she seems to be on the mend.
 
Thank you for those kind words, we enjoy it. Hubby but not me also does volunteer work on a soup/stew kitchen one night a week. It was supposed to be just for a couple of weeks that was 4/5 years ago. He loves it and gets to enjoy being innovative with stews and casseroles. Many of their clients are homeless people, but not all, some just cannot manage on universal credit payments. The charity do wonders and have a lot of generous donations from lots of different people and companies. I am heartened that there are some kind people out there who still care.

Well we are off to stay overnight at sons, looking after grandchildren whilst son and dil are away. I expect trouble ahead as no doubt 10 year old grandson will have been barred from his ipad yet again.
 
Is it me or is it the system...this morning had to reset my password & memorable information on both bank accounts...reset N#1 it didn't like it...N#2 it hated that one...N# 3 I tried to think of something acceptable to the online system something endearing so here goes N#3 no it spat that one back at me...I followed the instructions stood on one leg & hopped while I sang the national anthem & I reset for a fourth time rejected again so I said **** **** **** lo & behold it loved that one so now much of my password starts with an expletive I did my best but if it wants tough street speak it's going to ******g get it

@HarryBeau glad to hear Lola got a good report and I can well believe the assault on your wallet @SaskiaKC there have been big developments in Pheasantgate this morning. When I got back from the shops Mr PM repoe that another male pheasant had appeared and had a right old rut with poor okd Mr Fuzz. One of them flew off over the perimeter and I fesr Mr Fuzz lost the fight. So not putting out any more food if its causing street fights!
 
@ianpspurs - certainly some discomfort although the bonus ball today was managing to put my socks on all on my own. Soon I will be able to tackle laces.
Dentist was fun - so much sanitizing of treatment rooms between patients. Very expensive though - cost me two chickens and a signed photo from my favorite whippet. Did pick up a couple of fresh crabs on the market though so no worries about crackling for dinner.

Having tried to offer my services to the local shop and surgery to help out vulnerable people who may be self isolating, and having been met with a very lacklustre response I’ve finally found a chink of light. First an online place called VolunteerCornwall which is taking names of people willing to help, like in the days of swine flu when we were encouraged to have a ‘flu buddy’. Then a call to local priest. I am not a member of his congregation, in fact I rarely go to church at all but I figured he’d know of people who might be affected. He was very pleased with the offer and said he’d mention it on his rounds and on Sunday ( not my name and number, just the fact that there was a willing volunteer) he is having trouble at the mo trying to make his churches safe - no sharing of the chalice, no hand sanitiser available for the congregation and no accessible sink, poor chap sounded a bit overwhelmed and is trying to get to see all his parishioners in care homes ASAP before they stop allowing visitors. I feel a lot less frustrated now having started the ball rolling though.
@PenguinMum re pheasantgate who would have thought there was a pheasant grapevine? He must have told a pheasant chum or 2.
&HarryBeau good news re Lola, not so good for your wallet. I too have several passwords full of expletives and very rude words where I’ve lost my cool in the same way!
@Muddy Cyclist I love the slate paintings - it’s a technique Ive never heard of.
@dunelm your last post made me laugh I’d love a signed photo of your favourite whippet!
 
Granddaughter in playful day but managed to sneak away whilst she ate dinner and watched Peter Rabbit, so managed to do a little more to my painting hope to finish it Saturday. So first removal of Masking Fluid then bright yellow on tree, this will be toned down but still caught by the sun. I have also started to fill in the Slate, lots of work yet.

Had a call to day from MILs nursing home, no more visits allowed until End of April when it will be reviewed. We understand but like Mrs MC says she may never see her mom again, lots of families in the same situation, hard times.

One of our band members has decided to lock himself away as his wife is high risk and very frightened, I can't blame them under their circumstance, although I am not sure how they will manage.
 
 
Well done on getting your volunteering out there, I am sure there will be many grateful takers. Just be careful!
#pheasantgate. Mr Fuzz is back knocking on the patio door. No sign of the hen pheasant who might be a bit of a floozie!
