What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thank you @DJC3
The meditation music is very relaxing.
I will chill out today, thank you.

Thank you @PenguinMum
All animals need love to heal.
Don’t worry I will be in the front window with Popeye at midday when the sun reaches round there. I am relaxed, and yawning, but in a relaxed way. I will have dozes this afternoon in the all day sunshine we are promised.
You take care too

Hmm I think you’re wrong! The area is quite deprived: ‘retirement village’ is a twee title for a few tiny prefabs,
I don’t think voting preference has anything to do with the basic niceness or otherwise of people. Rabid right or Loony left are minority clubs like the supporters of David Ike and his conspiracy theorists. You simply can’t call a whole bunch of decent people hypocrites just for daring to show appreciation.

I bet those shortbread fingers tasted divine!
I rooted my flip flops out yesterday too and boy my lilly whites were whiter than white.

I didn't call those guys hypocrites and mentioned the appreciation I think, It was sloppy to add the psephology reference but in some ways so was retirement village. It would be a shame for a good deed in a weary world to cause problems. Truce?

Oh they were! The only thing putting me off the open toes today is Bobs brought in 3 mice yesterday and let them loose! Managed to catch all using a large flowerpot and ran to the back of the garden and set them free! Today new rules Bobs goesout and catflap locked until I can see her on the mat ready to come in and mouseless!
Great that your OH got that recognition from people. I have left a thank you note on our door for our postie and on the bins also. Am waving and thumbs up and big smile for any delivery drivers. (mr PM thinks I probably scare them lol). These people deserve our thanks and respect.

shops same here dunelm at all the supermarkets queues were horrendous didnt wait

Had a really awful night but feel ashamed to say that after seeing the photograph of the nurse. Hugs go out to her. Lots of bizzyness and friendliness (or truces) and lovely arty things going on in the thread as usual - great to read even if I don't always post individual responses, I do appreciate you all. You all seem to have much more interesting lives than I do. Probably going to have a lazy day today and try to catch up on my sleep. Wonder of wonder though my bloods this morning were 4.9. Don't know how that was achieved - have a good day everyone.

For those interested, the broccoli seems a write off but on the plus side, lettuce and cabbage stump are still holding their own and I've got a second tomato seed sprouting.

Great fbg. Right now less interesting lives is probably the goal of vast swathes of the world. Tomatoes are seemingly very easy to propagate. Our chickens loved them and the next year so many tomato plants grew all around the garden - tomatoes obviously flourish on chicken manure.

I'm so glad you have time to read fiction again. Please don't feel guilty. Enjoy!
(Speaks a retired librarian. )
You are right - I shouldn't feel guilty. Reading fiction has been one of my great joys in life and I have been quite sad that I got too busy to read.

I wonder if it is not just about taking on too many clients (which I definitely have) but also because I am getting older and maybe a bit slower at doing things. Then there is the problem I have with trying to do everything perfectly - which definitely can slow me down.

So maybe looking at not taking on so much work.once we are back to 'normal'.

What’s going on? Mrs Miggins made three abortive attempts to visit our local supermarket yesterday. The queues were so long that temporary Glastonbury portaloos should surely be provided.
Snap, same here today at Tesco OAP shopping hour no idea why. I almost abandoned but at 9 the manager walked down the long line allowing anyone 70+ to go to the front of the line. Lots of young people and middle aged waiting. Young were fine, middle age turned very aggressive, no violence thank goodness. I could see their point they were shopping for large families who in their eyes could put a greater burden on NHS if they all became ill. Felt very guilty being there at all and walking to the front. The man causing all the trouble had managed to get others like him arguing with the manager and security guard, he was quite a reble rouser, it felt very intimidating. Then he started shouting about politics and who to vote for, unnecessary, quite despicable, and visibly his support divorced themselves from him and the situation calmed down, manager had called the police by then, scary. I think if Mrs MC and I are careful enough we might manage a few weeks without shopping or having to ask kids to shop, I don't wish to see anything like that again.

I haven't read any of the Tom Thorne books but have just looked on Amazon and they look really good. So have added the first one of the series to my Amazon wish list.

So pleased that Popeye is feeling better, but how do you feel as you didn't have a good night's slerp?

My daily painting done today with the same recalcitrant app as yesterday...
SketchesPro app.
So much to learn...

Popeye is insisting on 'me' time...so bye for today....

Hope you get to relax and all continues to go well for you both. Thanks for the art, it actually has inspired a thought for today's painting of mine, night, glow, clouds what is not to love. I shall be useing it for the last of my Fence Line series.

Really horrible thing to have happened while you were queuing this morning. I wonder if the same thing has happened at our Tesco because the police turned up this morning while we were queuing. They seemed to be there just to observe the queue - perhaps to prevent any problems like you experienced.
