What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The caffeine isn't an issue with diabetes, for most people but it is an issue for bladder, and therefore kidney, problems. I'm still experimenting but it seems that, for me, the decaffeinating process causes spikes in BG, somehow.

So glad that things are looking up for you and there is no malignancy involved. You still have plenty to deal with, of course, but it is hopeful that all those boxes will be ticked off in time.

I have had various benign spots and lumps on my face, some of which have been removed, others are no trouble. There are others on my face which are malignant, but doctors think they aren't dangerous and can be left. Only one out of all of them was dangerous and it was removed quite easily, being on the end of my nose, so quite accessible (left me looking like the wicked witch of the north, but you can't have everything). These all appear to have been caused by exposure to the sun a couple of times in my life.

The urology nurse can't offer me any help but suggest I ask the GP (if I ever get to see/talk to him) to refer me to a urologist.

No gall bladder left to cause me any issues. It was removed years ago, and I have a huge scar to prove it because it was left too long without diagnosis, so don't let your doctor slack on that one.

My SIL had diverticulitis and she was in agony with it, so I do hope that it stays settled for you.

You most definitely can still get shoehorns. In fact you can get extra long ones to avoid having to bend too far. I have 2 of them, provided by my local community care people, but you can get them online. This one, with a lot of others, is available on Amazon:

BG 7.9 at 05.20 today. Shortly afterwards the Libre alarm told me it was 8.4. No idea what it is now, after insulin, breakfast and pills. No more alarms may mean it has climbed even higher, or has fallen below the alarm level (8.0).

It was dim with clouds all over first thing today, but is now bright and sunny, not much breeze either, so probably comfortable outside. Haven't been out though - been busy doing some "homework" for a Zoom meeting this afternoon.

Thanks for the art comment @gennepher. We have quite a lot of soup as last meal of the day - some more robust than others be we do like Thai/Korean/Japanese soups as they are a lot lighter. I invariably put a dollop of kimchi in the bottom of my bowl and pour my soup over it as Mrs Miggins is not keen on kimchi.
So yes, I call it a meal and with a slice sourdough taken out of the freezer, toasted and then drizzled in olive or sesame oil - a feast!

I have not found caffeine an issue although I only have tea twice a day , a cafetière of koffy in the morning and perhaps another koffy if out for lunch - and only green tea with fresh ginger and lemon in after lunch. I follow the practice of Chinese people with green tea and just keep refilling the pot with hot water as the day progresses. That gives progressively weaker tea as the day moves on (and less caffeine from the tea leaves).

I have a shoe horn, got it from a Hotter shoe shop - loads on line and can also be found in IKEA of all places. Some of my shoes and trainers I have replaced the laces with elastic ones - a lot easier to put on with the shoe horn and still comfortable. I do like my Sketches Step Ins mind.

Good afternoon everyone - a bit late - a busy day.
A 5.5 on the Scales of Osiris this morning and then the day just sort of galloped along.
Art bit - not on your nelly - turning it over and starting again - hey ho!
Hope your day is moving splendidly forward. Most go, I have a five year old wanting to demonstrate forward and backward rolls and how to do a crab!

Thank you @dunelm for that information. I appreciate it....

Fbg 6.4

I did a whole series of these long while ago and this was the first one I tried I think... so my creative for today is this one. I would like to do some more and I know I have already prepared the backgrounds.

I need to find where the others were. I think they are in a box in the potting shed..

Too hot again today. That attic space in this bungalow is not losing any heat at all and the heat keeps building and building.... the stray cats are still not coming into the bungalow and neither is Midnight.

I was tired after yesterday, so I've been resting most of the day today....

And now I need to look up and feed the cats, whoever is about....

Catch you tomorrow...

Thank you@Annb. Sounds like you have had more than your share of health issues! Let's hope there are no other challenges ahead. I have been in pain with one issue after another since the beginning of the year accompanied by a great deal of stress so am grateful that things are gradually improving and that I have been able to get out and about more. I wish you well.

Good slightly damp Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Still no point in publishing my blood sugars, so I shall smile sweetly and move on.

Decaffeinated tea and koffy are banned in this house, in fact the words are banned as well.

Now I must explore that go back to bed and doze hole that has mysteriously opened zzzzzz

12.0 this morning.
Had physio. Then off to the Toe appointment which tuned out to be a flop
He can't do that procedure at the moment...Didn't ask why, and his admin person was not aware.
Have made appointment with different person for end of next week.
Will have to redo mental preparations again.
More antibiotics in the meantime.
Blood sugar acting a bit weird which makes sense with the infection and weird eating. The antibiotics make me nauseous.
The weather looks OK tomorrow so I will probably do a hobble round the block.
I've been watching some plant based cooking videos to try and get some more veges in, and plan to try and make a new yummy dish tomorrow rather than just focussing on the next medical appointment.

"So glad that things are looking up for you and there is no malignancy."
Fantastic news. So pleased for you

5.7 this morning.
Relaxing with a coffee before setting off to classes. We are going early so we can have a lovely walk around the rec behind the village hall. I

Last night on the drive back from Norwich there was a stunning sunset although not as spectacular as Monday night's sunset.

Decaf is banned in this house also @alf_Josiah

21.05
8.30am about 30 mins after waking and a very brief exercise session
FBG 5.9
Am having natural yoghurt and berries for breakfast with coffee and taking vitamin D3 pills. Have just realised that the berries had sugar on them, because I had put them into a dish for a crumble, which then didnt happen. So this morning thought to use up some of the berries in the dish and had them defrosted and mixed with the yoghurt and started eating before I remembered.
It's market day on Friday and I usually bake something on the understanding that any friends visiting the market are welcome to pop in for coffee, so i will find a way to use the slightly sweetened berries then. The dish is still in the freezer, but It's back to the bag for breakfast.
Today an acquaintance is calling to see MrSlim and discuss the possibility helping out with the renovations. Depending on his level of skill and how much renumeration he requires. Please let it be reasonable. MrSlim is exhausted and really needs an assistant.

Smashing artwork and look forward to you digging out the others
