Thank you for the compliment @gennepherLike this one very much @dunelm makes me think of Samuel Palmer's The Magic Apple Tree...
That’s good to know, must paint myself dark redThe dark red is apparently a colour that does not attract many flies.
A lot of work to keep you both busy. Snails are frustratingly difficult to control, and there are only so many that you can eat.09.06

MrSlim has been working on the kitchen. We now have a beautiful ceiling with lights. Next the walls and floor, both have problems, in some places the floor was entirely rotten and has been removed and now needs replacing. Then it needs sanding, filling ( the many wood boring beetle holes) and finishing. There has been a lot of rising damp, due to the drainage issues which we think are now sorted out, but this has left an amount of rotten plaster, which again has been removed. The chimney breast needs... something, I don't quite understand. Our original idea was to put the oven in that space, but it's the wrong height and there is the immoveable granite hearth to fall over when accessing it, so that idea was scrapped.

MrSlim says three weeks, maybe four to complete.
You may remember his preferred next job was the back hall floor, which is in very poor condition, crumbling due to woodworm and rot, and the stairs - rather worryingly the floor has developed some alarming creaks and cracking noises - even when treading on the parts that look good. Cross fingers it lasts another month.

More time in the garden today for me.
Yesterday discovered a very small snail in with my seedlings, it had feasted on all my basil, most of the baby chives and some parsley. Today will be putting in more seeds.
I am inclined , to agree @Lamont D ....Just a late one,
FBG 7.4 carb it!
Have quite a few appointments this week. Tomorrow is brain doctor.
Wednesday is Worsel Gummidge day. ( hairdresser)
I have no doubt there is one for me Thursday. But I will have to find out.
Mrs L has been a bit of a grump today.
And according to Mrs L, it's all my fault.
We should be packing, but I won't go for boxes.
Never mind.
Tomorrow is a better day!
My best wishes.
@gennepher, I would rather pay the fines than the kerfuffle of everything you are experiencing.
And the cost of petrol, £7 for tunnel fees, and the time it takes! Ouch!
It looks like quite a job you and Mr S have taken on.09.06

Not good @Lamont DJust a little bit of an update.
The brain doctor couldn't make it. Car broke down. Phone call half an hour before appointment.
Just got Mrs L out of the shower and dressed.
Coming tomorrow instead.
Not amused.
FBG 7.2.
Actually did turn up at 2.45pm.Not good @Lamont D
I know it's not brain doctor's fault if his car broke down, but couldn't he have taken a taxi, and returned to his car after...surely he must have understood the time, effort, and even tears to get Mrs L ready in time...
MrSlim will eat them, when prepared by a chef, but they are not for me.A lot of work to keep you both busy. Snails are frustratingly difficult to control, and there are only so many that you can eat.
Or dark blue, apparently has a similar effect, unlike white, yellow or other pale colours which have the opposite effect. That’s good to know, must paint myself dark red
Glad he turned up @Lamont DActually did turn up at 2.45pm.
It has been now confirmed by the specialist in charge of her case, that the brain scan did not show the markers, confirming that Mrs L has a minor stroke of up to five years ago. (Not a Scooby about that).
The main culprit of the memory issued is the meds, the anxiety, the depression, the inactivity, the loss of stimulus. And obviously, the conscious trying to make sense of it all. And relying on past memories of many years ago to give her the information.
There is a sense of Mrs L getting help.
And if it does, will help me.
More phone calls and appointments.
Oh well!
Weather is awful, rain, windy andcool. Hoping for better weather tomorrow.
Best wishes.
Might come back later.
It is so cold here as well. Hasn't stopped raining since about 1pm.
I spent a couple of weeks in Antwerp, working. We tried a different restaurant every other night.MrSlim will eat them, when prepared by a chef, but they are not for me.
We have had several days of cold, wet and very windy weather. Pouring rain all day. Very unusual for the first week in June, but yesterday and today we have cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine. Have been wearing polo neck sweater and layers again, back to winter clothing. It is so cold here as well. Hasn't stopped raining since about 1pm.
it is wild for June.
