Just a minor slip up after five days of sensible eating. The most consequetive days managed for months. Ate nearly a whole packet of biscuits last night. In my defence, the packet was already open - and the biscuits inside really small. The whole packet would have been 67g of carbs!

Monday is coffee morning day, had all the messages about location on Sunday evening, then Monday morning MrSlim is dressed before me, ready to go and buy the right colour paint, so hasty wash and dress and off we go. At the store can't agree on which colour, so buy some other things also on the list and are en route to collect some stuff from a friend when I get message about coffee group!
I'm supposed to be there already !! MrSlim very graciously abandons his plans and drives me 25 mins to coffee morning, which due to late arrival of two members overuns considerably, leaving him hanging about waiting for me. Without grumbling.
Off again to pick up stuff, then home, paint purchase abandoned until Thursday. MrSlim inserts the newly purchased glass into the frames and we spend a considerable amount of time applying decorative film. The rèsult is very pleasing. After that i second coat the coat hooks started yesterday and he does some more work in the back hall. Later, after visit to local supermarket there is pizza van, bought one. Pizza and salad for dinner. Not a very good pizza, base isn't crisp and dripping with oil from the chorizo topping. Plus two euros more.
Up early - not possible to catch up with jobs left undone yesterday, but can make a start on them at least.
So out into the garden to plant cucumbers
and beans now. After that another exciting day home renovating...

Hope you and Neil can find a solution that allows you more comfortable nights.12.9 at 03.20 today. Another bad night, most of it in the chair in the kitchen. I've asked Neil if he can cut maybe 3 inches off the legs of my bed, to make it easier to get into it. The chair is comfortable, but a whole night spent in it leaves lots of aches and pains. Neil reckons it would be better to build a kind of retractable platform so I could get into bed in 2 stages. He's busy designing it at the moment. He never goes for the simple answer, but I do see the point. 3 inches might be enough for now, but maybe later it would need to be another 2 or 3 inches, in which case I would be too near the floor to be able to get up in the morning.
Meantime I will just have to spend an hour or more perched on my left side on the edge of the bed and finish the night in the chair.
Hi @debs248. Pasta, like rice, potatoes and all high end carbs do better when cooked, chilled overnight and then heated again to convert some of the carbs into residual carbs to reduce carb loading. Smaller portions of course!11.6
Pasta experiment last night inconclusive as I fell asleep less than 2 hours after eating but today's FBG suggests I was wise to avoid it for the last 2 months.
I am aware of resistant starch but it can only reduce effects on BG by a fraction, hardly at all for some people.Hi @debs248. It's horrible when you can't make definite plans because so many things are still undecided. Fingers crossed you get some firm answers soon and are able to move forward again. It will get better, even if it doesn't feel like it now.My head is battered.
Receiving good news yesterday, nothing today, it's like a void has opened up and I have no idea what is going to hauppen. I'm in limbo.
Quiet day, I actually made time to watch the last stages of the cricket.
Should I start getting things ready?
Should I wait?
Is there gonna be a time when I stop being anxious about Mrs L?
Stress is causing a headache.
I think I need to know if it is really happening?
Hope you are having your bestest day.

Hugs for the bed height problems @Annb12.9 at 03.20 today. Another bad night, most of it in the chair in the kitchen. Neil has come up with a temporary solution which is much simpler than his complicated suggestion. We have what we have always called "the Agnes stool". Agnes was my MIL and she was only a little over 4ft tall and, as a result, couldn't reach many of the fittings in our house. Tom made this little platform for her which could be moved to different places, as required and covered it in a carpet off-cut. I had no idea where the stool had gone, but Neil dug it out today and, with the help of my zimmer frame, I am going to use it to get onto my bed. If it works, Neil will make a slightly larger platform so that I can be more secure on it.Hugs for the bed height problems @Annb
I had a similar kind of problems with the legs...
I needed the bottom legs raised. I was tired of cushions and things in the bottom of the bed falling off and then getting cramp. Bought leg raisers, but to get the right height, I needed more than the leg raisers I had bought... I had to use a car jack to raise the bottom of the bed... I need to order some more bad raisers, but Amazon said they were out of stock. There was some big ones I needed. I was at S** it point. In the end, I got some old books out of the garage put them under the other side. And had to hammer some thin books, to gently raise the couch bed...couch is slightly wonky, when I get back into my proper bedroom when that is finished, there's no way I could let anyone sit on the couch. They would wonder what the heck it was.... however it's comfortable for me.
I hope Neil makes your bed comfortable for you getting into... I hope his platform works... I imagine it would do, Neil being Neil....
Wish that was true @gennepherHe has so much energy and get up and go.... @SlimLizzy
Window is beautiful...
Hope you get updated and accurate information soon.7.1,

Stress is causing a headache.
Weather is awful. Sun has disappeared. Cloud and rain showers.
Roses after going wild with flowering, doesn't like the wind and cool weather.
I think I need to know if it is really happening?
Hope you are having your bestest day.
If you have door handles rather than knobs, they can jump up and pull down with enough weight to open the door!Overslept despite Kiki's efforts to rouse me by clawing at my foot sometime shortly after six am. ( how did she open the door?)
