What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Try The Land Registry for House titles/deeds. As I understand it, Deeds no longer exist. Good luck with finding your precious jewellery too xx ( also try your bank, as they might have them for safe keeping)
 
Good morning everyone from an enthusiastic start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north
5.4 this a.m.
Slept for 9 hours last night. Two weeks away gadding about seems to take its toll nowadays. Still, I got to see a few people that I had not enjoyed the company of for a while.
Heat. I don’t do so well in the heat. Didn’t bother me when I worked in East Africa but now! From the knees up it’s fine but below that - oh dear, Friday afternoon ankles I suspect. I have recently acquired some compression socks - toe to just below the knee and wore them yesterday - seem to help and not uncomfortable for the short hour that I had them on. Another try out today.
Today. Some shopping, sending off gas and electric meter readings and must get a walk in.
Art bit - some ink and bleach - postcard size.
I hope that your day contains some cheer, better still moments of joy. I need to finish my koffy and get into the day.

Hugs... I am in the middle of a massive sort out throw out, et cetera... and I have to be ultra careful, I am not going to throw out any important documents....

I hope you find all these missing items. They are there somewhere. @Annb
 
Love this ink and bleach series... @dunelm I would love to get back to doing it but still clearing and tidying up and sorting and throwing out the stuff from many years...

Thank you @gennepher, you will get back to it some day. I am having a kitchen cupboards sort out today, especially in the one that Mrs Miggins calls The Cupboard of Alchemy, containing all manner of things that are low or zero carb that I just can’t now be bothered with. I know what the inner chemical factory likes or complains about so just going to leave it at that and can do without stevia, bewilderingly unpalatable bread substitute recipes and the like. Enjoy your clearing and tidying.
 
I have been doing exactly the same thing today, throwing the out all these things I bought to try, and I have now given up with a lot of them @dunelm

So I had to Google encaustic painting.

Might not have readily done if your art here didn't stop me .

Beautiful isn't the right word, but I can appreciate the artistry

What stood out fur me, was the eerie sense of despair, ney, devastation I felt eminiating from the picture

I'm sure we all see different things in artworks

For me this one is a view from a hidden spot, observing the smoking ruins of barns or houses.

Quite brilliantly done & so effective bearing in mind the materials used

Bravo
 
Ah, yes....the getting older and wiser is tiring on some days .

Where oh where is that inner 21 year old I suspect we all still feel at times....obv before putting a foot on the bedroom floor each morning and making that first, old person sound each movement...(When does that officially start, I seem to have doing it forever . )

Yes, I know it's a drop of this, a drip of that, to you arty types, but I'm always impressed how what seems 'so little' can come anywhere near to representing such detailed or delicate paintings.

Brilliant artwork Gennepher. I've seen encaustic work, watched demonstrations of how it is done and really appreciate the results but how you get such wonderful effects with the materials is still a mystery to me.

I love watching other people doing encaustic painting and how they get their effects.

And then I just got into it, in that it was an extension of my thoughts and feelings at that time.... you have obviously seen how I felt that day, what my feelings and emotions were.Not many people see that, they just see a pretty picture...

Everyone see's paintings differently. Sometimes they catch an emotion you have forgotten. I never know what specifically it is in a painting that does that to me, but it is something that just happens. Maybe you need to feel that emotion at that certain point of time.

I used to feel very vulnerable when people told me what they could see in my painting... and it made me scared. But it doesn't now. I am at peace with that now....

Thank you very much @Annb for your compliments...

I really enjoy doing encaustic painting... I use an ordinary household iron to do it... it looks a big clumsy tool, but it is not. The iron is like an extension of my arm, and myself. I used the tip of the iron for the details. And the painting flows when I really get into it. I am not bogged down by detail as if when you're using a paintbrush. I find it a very freeing technique....

I did the same and binned almost all of it.

7.55am FBG 5.9
Have had some apparently good FBG results in the last week or so, but they are lies, not me posting inaccurately, but strangely low after overindulging in far too much carb and sugar laden food and alcohol. Don't understand how this works at all.
Yesterday was a more sensible eating and drinking day and yet the FBG is higher.
Due to stress and comfort eating I have gained about 5 kilos - while MrSlim has done the opposite and now lives up to his name, having lost about three stone
