What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I haven't seen a single butterfly this year - not even cabbage whites. Odd.
 
I'm knackered again!
And it's all Mrs L fault (not mine for a change!). When the Rehab at home person visited, a chair for the bedroom was ordered. So last evening was a chance for her to select her favourite station on the alarm clock I use to use for getting up etc. And her record player, was put back in to use.
I was woken up by the alarm clock at 4.30am, then by the record player's radio. Playing thump-thump- thump music. At 5.30, then by Mrs L being noisy. At 7am.
I had had enough and got up for a morning brew.
#7 & #8 paid a visit around midday and spent all afternoon with us. We decided to treat the little mites( not so little now) to a Maccies. A taxi picked us up and a really pleasing time spent in the kids (and Mrs L 's) place. I only had three chicken select and a black tea. The kids had happy meals, their smiles made us happy. Then a bits and bobs shopping a new cup for nanny, a tin of paint and a clothes line food myself.... The kids got books and a toy each and some sweets of course.
Mrs L was very good, her mobility is better, but Mrs L is still misremembering stuff.
And of course, bull in a china shop with her rollator. And shopping for the whole of England.
Taxi back and kids picked up. Mrs L and the kids had a great day. Mr L was too stressed and wary to really enjoy it. Ho hum!

Good morning everyone on what appeared to be a joyously quite start to the day until the sounds of little feet on the stairs reminded me that The Girl In The Bubble stayed over last night. I seated her at table number 1 and took her breakfast order.
5.7 this a.m.
Woke with a version of Jacques Brel‘s Timid Frieda ringing inside my bonce - thank goodness it was in English - I must be doing well and living in Paris!
I can’t drink koffy first thing in the morning so tea first, then the koffy. My routine taking a slightly different path thanks to Brel and TGITB.
Keeps me on my toes I suppose.
Birthday Bash this afternoon at one of Mrs Miggins’ sisters place. Weather stone indicates warm and dry (subject to change). Could get more info but I only got the free version.
Art bit - another version of yesterdays. Van Gough did 11 of sunflowers but I won’t try to emulate.
Hope your day goes well. I will now attempt to pour koffy and even drink it.

6.9 at 06.10 today. I slept in! Just had breakfast with insulin and it is now 8.4.

Trying to get the News on this dodgy TV but it keeps on cutting back to DVD at critical moments, so I still don't know what is happening out there. Given up on it.

I found some interesting stuff last night about part of the family history. I roughly knew the story, but found some newspaper cuttings about it - the cafe in Paisley which was the centre of the first consumer rights legislation in Britain - and the world. The Wellmeadow cafe was owned by a cousin (a couple of times removed) of my late husband. We knew about it, but the last remaining cousin (son of the unfortunate cafe owner - deceased now) was unwilling to talk about it - it must have been a horrendous time for the family. Pretty horrendous too for the customer who found a decomposing snail in her ginger beer!

Forcing down (didn't gag but it was unpleasant) some pâté dropped it to 9.0 in an hour. Need to keep up this habit no matter how much I hate it.

Packing to do, hubby has decided instead I must devote myself to paperwork and admin. Not Going To Happen, I'll pack it but it may well return unopened. I do not propose to spend this week exhausting myself on a complicated form with a deadline a week after we return. There will be arguments, sulking and passive aggressive behaviour on his part but I told him I needed help with the form and instead he just moans that it's not finished yet.

Hope it doesn't spoil our time away too much, unfortunately we can't afford a relaxing holiday so we're roughing it, and I expect to be permanently exhausted as it is.

Sorry for such a negative post but I needed to get it off my chest. I'll try to enjoy the sunshine and the tea that is currently brewing

I am impressed that your BS dropped so much after eating the pate.
