Thanks again, SaskiaKC. What a lovely, peaceful picture.@dogslife Hug for the distressing day. At least you were able to hear some good news about your mum. As you reminded me:
View attachment 38486 And we all of us need that reminder.
I am glad you made it home OK, and that your mum is fine.
That sounds like a brilliant and very useful excursion to that store. I wonder if youboughtmore than one item you could barter a reduction, worth a try? As you say the man will be keen to get a sale to get his commission. The choice though is for you to mull over. Best wishes Saskia.Just back from the furniture store where I fell in love with the lovely paprika shade of the red sofa I posted here a few days ago. I also fell in love with the brown version -- a lovely dark coffee-colored one with a golden tone, like hot coffee. And the black rocker-recliner which fit me like a glove. And the huge blue armchair which fit me like an even roomier glove -- I think it is worthy of being called a Comfy Chair.
I refrained from jumping up and down on any of the innerspring mattresses. I did lie on one, and found it comfortable. I also thought the memory foam one was comfortable but I could not roll over on it. It doesn't give you a "push" the way springs do. It just sort of lies there.
The salesman was great, very cordial and knowledgeable and laid back, and I was reminded of back when I used to go car-shopping with my father.
I had just wanted to see and try out the real furniture I had liked online. I hope there will be a way I can buy at least one of the pieces here -- I would like for this salesman to get the credit and commission for the sale instead of some anonymous website. Especially if I can buy two pieces.

Hey thats beautiful love the sky and love the windmill.. Thank you.On our way home from Visiting MIL drove through a snowstorm past a windmill at Upper Longdon, they are not all in Norfolk, and the sun was just setting so that's what inspired today's painting, watercolour between A5 and A4 size. Brushes used Large and Rigger, the spray bottle was used to keep the sky damp, its water not cleaner. Paints in pans not tubes. Time taken 20 mins whilst dinner was being prepared, yes by me so lots of running backwards and forwards, even dipped a paint brush in my glass of wine in the confusion and probably the reason the windmill is a bit cockeyed.

Sounds like you enjoyed your shopping trip, SaskiaKC.Wonder which one/ two you will buy? I agree that you need to try furniture for comfort once you have browsed on line. We have been considering buying a new matress but haven't got around to even browsing yet. I imagine a sprung matress must be better for support. Best wishes.

The recliner sounds like a good choice @SaskiaKC.I am thinking the recliner, and the best mattress I can afford. I was thinking that I might buy the cheapest now and then splurge on a better one later on, but I will never be able to afford one that would be different enough to feel different. But it's definitely going to be a sprung one, and not a foam one. (Unless someone puts that one I posted on sale for under $100!) hahaha.
@DJC3 hope you made it back to Cornwall safely and all there was intact after the storm. Hope you enjoyed the show in London.
Thanks PM it was a pretty hairy ride back on the last section, I’m glad my daughter was driving. The show was fantastic, the effects were brilliant, you could almost believe it was magic. You would need to have read the books, or at least seen the films to understand what was going on. Very expensive but we booked months ago and saved up.
I am now nearly 250 posts behind lol! I’ll have to start afresh tomorrow.
Team Sprung scores again!Thank you for posting about yours. So now I think the score is 5-1 in favor of the Sprungs.
I plan to go out shopping today to look at sofas and chairs and try out mattresses. Will practice rolling over on the foam models and sitting on their edges. Hopefully I will not slide off onto the floor due to lack of "edge support." I wish I could try the innerspring ones by jumping up and down on them!
