27.05.2021 8.20am FBG 6.4 We are making very slow progress. Had to take most of the appliances out in the kitchen to clear out behind them. There is a void behind the cooker and rats had tunneled through the walls into it. It was me who had to squeeze in there and scrape up the buckets of soil, stone and poo. An unpleasant and time consuming job. MrSlim has now concreted over the holes and all around the edge of the floor. I managed a little more digging before it rained yet again. An acquaintance phoned to say she will visit tomorrow, prompting us into deciding a major tidy up was needed. News that the French now have mandatory quarantine for UK arrivals had us breathing a sigh of relief. We had managed to get here in the brief window where voluntary self isolation and a second test in a week was all that is required. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to improve. Kitchen chaos Errant showing us where the rats got in. He tried digging them out and got himself a nasty coughing fit from the dust as a result.
