01.09 8.05am FBG 6.1 Thunderstorm last night, dry at first with frequent power surges causing blackouts. I had to shower by candlelight. Good thing our shower is gravity fed and the hot water comes from a tank. Storm passed over, but it rained a little in the night, not a lot of rain, only two hundred litres added to the water cube which collects from the roof. MrSlim has been working himself to exhaustion every day since we got back. He doesn't do so well in hot weather. Today he is planning to start the next major task. Pointing the end wall. He has borrowed an additional scaffold from a neighbour because his tower is not tall enough. It's a huge job. Will take several weeks and need dry weather. Stressful for both of us. I worry about him working at height, plus I know he will start suffering with RSI after a short time but will carry on regardless. We are suffering the usual seasonal influx of biting flies. While working on the scaffold, perhaps he will be out of range.
