Have a cyber hug @Ziggy2017 and a virtual what an amazingly tough cookie you are badgeGood morning everyone a bit late today but my BG was 5.2 this morning didn’t have a very good night last night my stomach has been acting up I was at my aunts house retching over the toilet have the night (I can’t throw up due to a surgery I had) thankfully my aunt had Cyclizine after I took that I felt a good bit better but it made me very sleepy so I had an early night last night and a lie in this morning
...and probably not the best visual metaphor in the context of this subject matter.Ok then I think it is along the lines of: "do not try to teach a pig to read. It will only frustrate you and annoy the pig" Trotted out by some total clownshoe. attempting to justify not trying to get GCSE level qualifications for certain groups of students.
... you know what the plural of an anecdote is?@rhubarb73 You have touched on something I have been thinking more and more. We on here are a very self selecting audience and as the phrase goes we are talking in our own silo at times. It is not common to gainsay medical consensus and invest so much emotional capital, time - and often money - doing something traditionally regarded as a waste of time. Anecdotally, you have provided me with today's fix of confirmation bias.
What I find difficult to accept is that a wise man said it.Wise man he say: “the dog can swim faster than the rabbit, but the rabbit cannot row the boat, only swim and hope for the best.”
Good stuff @OrsonKartt data is one thing, information is better but knowledge is where its at IMHO. Right now, we live in an era where knowledge gets in the way of allowing a few rich and powerful types to pi** (or worse) all over us so it won't fly... you know what the plural of an anecdote is?

The one with the biggest stick? Can't be a one eyed man as then it would not be the land of the blind it would be a land of the mostly blind.Good stuff @OrsonKartt data is one thing, information is better but knowledge is where its at IMHO. In the same context @JohnEGreen you will be aware who is king in the land of the blind
President Carter was once “attacked” in his rowing boat by a swimming rabbit. It’s true. What I find difficult to accept is that a wise man said it.
Don't disbelieve the story but seems like a Breitbart staplePresident Carter was once “attacked” in his rowing boat by a swimming rabbit. It’s true.
It’s not especially relevant to this discussion but it is true.

In 1988 Professor of Psychology and primatologist Irwin S. Bernstein writing in the journal “Behavioral and Brain Sciences” employed the saying:
One cannot do science with independent variables held constant or allowed to vary without measurement. Astronomy did not progress by only observing dependent variables. It was the measurement and correlation of both that led to progress. Relying on anecdotes, no matter how numerous, fails to specify any value of the independent variable, or the intentional state of an animal. The plural of “anecdote” is not “
Lol. Have you got a word for the plural of anecdotes which remain ignored / publicly unacknowledged by the main stream medical industry ?
Tom Paxton is no Breitbart disciple but he wrote a song about itDon't disbelieve the story but seems like a Breitbart staple
@OrsonKartt debate where you actually bother to listen to the other side never mind engage with their views is so last century. This is the age of the denialist - how come you did not get the memo?Ok how about the plural of anecdote is the beginning of a debate?
Hope you feel better soon.Good morning everyone a bit late today but my BG was 5.2 this morning didn’t have a very good night last night my stomach has been acting up I was at my aunts house retching over the toilet have the night (I can’t throw up due to a surgery I had) thankfully my aunt had Cyclizine after I took that I felt a good bit better but it made me very sleepy so I had an early night last night and a lie in this morning

Edit: Wow, missed an email myself - we are now in the post denialist era - how time flies
