What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Afternoon...this morning's waking number was 5.8...it's late because I have been slumming around all day...in the comfy chair watching re-runs of the Great Comic Relief Bake Off...and making sugar free jellies to eat with squirty cream

Sounds like a perfect way to spend a bank holiday to me. Carry on regardless

Karen I feel fine it’s weird but I don’t feel ******
Been in double figures all day long despite me injecting correction doses all the time too
Wasn't sure if I should give this a like @Cumberland but saw @karen8967 did so I feel ok. Take care, we Ian's need to stick around to keep an eye on things

Kingsmill Wholemeal No Crusts 400G

Typical Values Typical Values Per 100g Per Slice % RI† Per Slice
Energy 871kJ 192kJ 2%
- 206kcal 45kcal 2%

of which: saturates 0.7g 0.2g 1%
Carbohydrate 33.6g 7.4g 3%
of which: sugars 2.7g 0.6g <1%
Fibre 5.8g 1.3g -
Protein 9.9g 2.2g 4%
Salt 0.83g 0.18g 3%

Not exactly low carb to some but I eat it now and again and it doesn't spike me overly much though each slice is a bit on the thin side

the above gives it 7.5 grams per slice but is more like 9 gms according to the packaging.

I have warburtans whole grain and oat its 15.9 grammes of carb per sĺice it doesnt tend to spike me but i think you can only get it at sainsburys you get 12 slices per loaf

@rhubarb73 But obviously, as you are in Cornwall, if you do have jam, it should go on the bottom. ( @jayney27 might disagree though)
I have never really bothered too much about which goes first, however, I have always preferred to put my cream first then the jam. Now I don’t eat cream teas so it matters even less. I was tempted a little while ago at my favourite tea room, they make amazing scones, my favourite was made with pieces of ginger which they served with pear and ginger jam. I treated myself to a takeaway scone and thought I would try half served with just cream, not as nice as I remembered and I certainly didn’t like the result when I tested BG so scone no more for me.
