Hi Saskia hope you and the KC are having a good day. Its quite cold here but Bobs and Daisy are under their rugs. The reason I am not sure about the HBA1c is it averages BG over approx 8 / 12 weeks but it doesnt catch any spikes. So while its a popular tool for the medics to use it doesnt tell the whole story. I thought my last HBa1c was lower than it should have been considering my struggle with FBG and while it was nice to get a lower number I didnt have much faith in it to be honest. Home measuring is more helpful IMO. What do you think? Like it or not we are all ageing and while we do our best to be optimal it makes sense to me that bits of us are wearing, to put it simply. I am in my 61st year though I still have a child at Uni! We are so hoping to sell up and downsize so OH can retire and we can have some “us” time before we get too creaky, lol.I'm interested to read what you think about the HBa1c. It's encouraging to me. And about aging -- that's similar to what I've been thinking about BP as well.
Well done on the weight lossMorning/Afternoon all! Woke up at 7am to a 5.1 which is perfectly fine with my current state of things, ended up losing a pound and a half since last week so steady goes it till next week when it's really going to feel the sting of my ire.
Hope you all have a great weekend and look after yourselves.
5.9 pre lunch reading........very unusual for me to lower bg between wake up and pre lunch......although I did have a very unusual breakfast which was a smoothie consisting of:
1 bag spinach
2 courgette
1 thumb sized piece ginger
1 yakult
Then cracked 2 eggs into it and gulped that bad boy down
Had an orange and a cappuccino too in this time gap
May well cut back on the bran flakes although they may well be 'keeping me regular' against inevitable morphine constipation
You just go from strength to strength and in such a short time. Big respect.Morning/Afternoon all! 6.5 for pre dinner bg better than yesterday
Lunch today was Chicken Korma, broccoli, red lentil Dahll, mix veg (looked like birds eye mix bag),small cup white rice....followed by no added sugar lemon sorbet(man that thing was sharp). A few hazelnuts and a hot chocolate drink(85 % cocoa green & blacks) for a Snack and lots of tea/coffee/sugar free squash.
Final pre bed reading of 6.5. Delighted with the numbers today......average 0.65 lower per test than yesterday with most improvements made on the later readings when usually that's when I rise quite a bit.......perhaps it's starting the mild afternoon exercise/rehab?
For the record dinner was Lamb Vindaloo, sweetcorn pakora's ,cucumber Raita, avocado and rocket salad with olive oil and cider vinegar dressing......had a hard boiled egg with paprika as a snack and , plenty tea coffee.......just water from 2100hrs so should get another 12hrs fast in.
BTW........going for curry option regularly to counteract 'morphine constipation '.......works for me
Ouch.....feeling your pain my brother6.2 again this morning, being dragged off to the garden centre later
Terrible night with pain from sinusitis (I think).

Waves lapping on the shore, birds tweeting loudly & dogs barking at the wind.
Going to be hard to say goodbye, to the south.
From inside the room, I caught her ladyship spending our last few moments, in a quiet prayer to her mum.

But today we saddle up and scooter north, back to our base in Baga.
It's a beautiful ride, two lane traffic, through a national forest area, up and down a mountain side...glorious.
Then into one large mad busy town for a $3 dinner..lol
Then into the Goan equivalent of a motorway network, .
10% A40
90% Dakar Rally....:***: hahahaha
Wish us look, we got the lord Ganesh on side, but a little extra love never goes amiss.
