What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

What the heck is going on….this morning was 6.8….and honestly I didn’t have that many cherries! Went to the gym and saw that my glucose went way up when I was lifting…to 7.5. I was concerned but put it down to a new sensor. Got home and scoffed at the 7.7 reading…then I tested my blood…7.7
I may have a minor infection….hope that’s it. If not my pancreas may be just getting worse. If these numbers continue (they are highly unusual for me) I will ask for a c peptide and a fasting insulin test. I have treated the possible UTI so we shall see…
Edited to add that there will be zero carbs passing my lips for a bit….those beautiful fresh BC blueberries will have to be frozen….

5.4 today expected to be a little lower chilli con carne for dinner (without rice). was surprised at graph didn't have the usual meal time spike up several mmol's. instead a more sustained less arched graph for a good few hours longer than usual all within 3mmol :O

couple of wheatabix and off swimming after coffee

Morning all, 5.44 mmol/L at 6 am this morning. (Still taking Medrol for a minor knee injury), FBG was elevated a little). Cherries are in season and on sale in California. Got lots of cherries for the family. No Cherries for me. I only eat Kiwi
. Nice sunny weather for a week or so. Have a nice day everyone

hopefully your knee injury will heal up nice and fast ps I've been hunting for RUBY kiwis ever since you mentioned them to no avail m&s stated they had them in some stores... travelled over 200 miles so far to try locate them gold ones are sweet not brave enough to try a full one... a tiny wee sliver suffices whilst daughter gorges on the rest. greens aren't anywhere near as nice

OrsonKartt you seem to be holding steady with FBG. Hope the new regime is going well assume your still LC diet. Take care all.
Thanks for your thoughts…So far so good. Yep still pretty much carnivore…..Putting on a few kilos despite no real change in diet … but I was getting pretty skinny so no big panic at mo but have half an eye open , just in case …

I’ve just recieved an appointment with an NHS endo in September. I’m guessing this is to check that alls well ? Or maybe a precursor of a scan the private endo recommended.

Who knows ? Not me but I guess I’ll find out in a month or so …

6.3 immediately after waking, 5.6 and dropping moments later. On to day two of zero carbs, I am committed. After some reevaluation I was indeed eating far too many, for me, carbs. The “carb creep” was indeed a thing. I gave myself a good talking to….and I listened.
Coffee with butter and collagen, a sugar free beef stick for breakfast, eggs and bacon for lunch with a slice of cheddar. As much water as I can stand….
Supper will be chicken fingers (coated with pork panko).
Numbers were still high at the gym but not as high as yesterday. I imagine my liver has some extra fuel to get rid of…I don’t expect to see any significant results for a week.

if your not keen on water maybe try ice/crushed ice i can tolerate that better than water straight from the tap. water for me needs to be ice cold

I go for the fizzy mineral water myself. Sounds daft but somehow I find a sweetness in the fizz
