you'll get used to it over time will become second nature imoI’m a newbie to the insulin thing. I was advised to take a small 6 unit jab at night and it’s made a major improvement in my life. I haven’t fallen once since taking it and the general malaise , the dragging myself around feeling has all but gone
I like to keep informed about this stuff so have signed myself up to a four week insulin course on line. I’m also reading what I can , half way through “ think like a pancreas “
So last night I skipped my insulin as my glucose reading was into the fives at around four a.m I was woken by my phone bleeping a libre warning of low blood glucose at three point six. - I went to the loo and the glucose levels rapidly rose to over six. This morning they are just over seven and rising
Looks like this is a trickier thing than I was once thinking
around 2-3 hours (depending on person) for it to reach 'peak' active time which should last approx 24 hours (can be shorter or indeed longer depending on person). its insulin glargine.Re insulin. I’m using lantus . Apart from the very scary first time I’ve had no issues that are worth mentioning.
Sounds like a really lovely positive day5.8 this amazing sunny, warm and quite spectacular day. Just back from the best walk at one of our local provincial parks. The dog had a great swim. Gym was abs and yoga
