What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.5 today
Warm weather, nine degrees yesterday and seven today, blue skies too. Of course that makes it an icy mess out back on the trails as we did have a pile of snow. Time to put my spikes on.
Follow up to the high blood glucose guy from the gym. Talked to his wife today, she said everything is going great and they’ve had some great advice from the nutritionist….oh dear…I seriously had to bite my tongue! A cup of pasta is good…just don’t have more than that…I’m so annoyed. He still doesn’t have a definite diagnosis and will find out next week. He is on insulin. I totally suspect type one.
Why on earth can’t the dieticians get updated information! Apparently all she talked about was portion control. It really makes me angry….just take more insulin for those carbs…

libre 5.1

Suppossed to have spinal pain relief injection later on today. Waiting patiently on review of ferries as they currently off! Have packed an overnight bag. Ferry been off majority of yesterday so no idea if will get off the isle or indeed if i do be able to get back home weathers to be same as yesterday.

Not allowed to drive 24 hours after, not allowed to use public transport (which ignoring) seriously sod paying taxi 90 mile trip. peeved patient transport didn't call back had tried to arrange that. I do know patient transport didn't take anyone to mainland yesterday due to the adverse weather.

amber wind warning. yellow for rain.

Going to give hospital a call when they open to let know might not be able to make it. Hoping if can't manage doesnt mean another seveal month wait. If is possible to go still will fed up <4 hours sleep a day. usually after proceedure manage to sleep a lot better for a few weeks no idea what the hecks going to happen with sugar levels due to steroids except raised hopefully by not too much. last time around was injecting insulin, this time around honeymoon period so unsure correctional dose or not or if should remove a cartridge from the fridge stings like heck when still cold. Hopefully find a relatively cheap hotel if its needed.

even though dislike needles the spinal injection doesn't have as much of effect as blood draws etc getting done actually not too bad with those.

6.5 at 0515 it's dark outside, pouring down with rain and the forecast says "light rain" all day which normally means torrential at times!
Back to bed methinks!
They make it up as they go along so they dont do a forecast like the one in the 80s that wrecked the UK!

6.1 today
Above zero and cloudy. There’s a huge amount of rain coming to the coast (Vancouver area) so who knows what that means for us (south central interior BC). Hope it’s not a lot of snow…it’s so mild right now so maybe rain?
Gym today was the rest of my upper body , a walk and a bike ride. Got a couple of roasting chickens and will have one for Christmas (don’t like Turkey).
Made a keto chocolate pound cake yesterday. It’s pretty good but a wee bit dry….likely my fault, maybe I baked it too long. It’s very low carb and hasn’t affected my blood sugar. I love baking.

Winner for the blood results, hug for everything else is going on in your life. Hope you got the best for you.

6.1 this morning. Could have been worse. Heavy day today as its the lunch club Christmas dinner. Me and another person do the cooking at the lunch club, one time I will do the savoury, the next i'll do the dessert. Its my way of being able to cook dessert which I enjoy cooking and not have to eat it, which I cant. We are supposed to alternate, this year I should have been doing the dessert, but no for the 3rd year in a row, I got landed with the main course, all because my OH used to be a butcher so he is tasked with sourcing the meat, so its presumed I will cook it. I don't mind so much but it would be nice if the other person put some effort in. I will be there from about 08:30 she will saunter in about 10:30 if not later. When its her turn to do the savoury, she will saunter in and dump the veg on the bench expecting someone else to prepare them. I get a bit fed up at times. To top it all, this year, the environmental officer may turn up. to grade us. He was supposed to be sending me an email which he has not done, so I don't know..... we shall see, but it all adds to the stress. So I am happy with the 6.1. And finished grumping now. Our clients are looking forward to a starter of Caribbean salad, (OP) no cooking, followed by roast Lamb, (cooked yesterday) with roast potatoes, roast parsnip roast sweet potatoes, sprouts and carrots plus Yorkshire pudding made from scratch. My vegetarian who eats fish will get Salmon with a cheese sauce and the same veg. Dessert - it will be Christmas pud (the microwavable kind,) with brandy sauce.
Wish me luck!
