What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

libre: 5.6
managed to get off the isle and home umpteen hours later. left 9.15am home 7:30pm.long day. glad ferry was able to make a few runs. was informed if didn't attend clinic might be another couple of months wait. spinal steriod injection was done. little bit tender this time around after the local anesthic wore off. can take a little bit of time before starts to work.

asked the consultant a few questions whilst there effect on sugars alongside what was actually used. mostly positive responses. just to expect sugars raised but shouldnt be 'by too much' for a couple of weeks. very long half life for dexmethasome (steriod/cortisol prob butchered spelling). 2 jags the main one wasnt too bad after the initital local was done (lidocaine same as what dentists use apparently). This one was different steriod than the last. apparently should work for a little longer. got to sign consent before get it done states a fair few risks.

interesting effect on sugars just prior to having done and for first few hours raised a fair bit prob stress/anxiety adding to it settled down several hours later to a little above my normal. before arrived hosp 4.7! 6.5 before injection upto 11.9 staying put for a couple of hours before starting to come back down, no food til got home. had a half loaf size (400g) wholemeal bread Single Slice 9g carbs with cheese for dinner not the best choice for evening meal but hey ho couldnt be faffed cooking.

eaten a semi decent breakfast sugars currently 9.2 rising. single wheatabix and some scambeld egg alongside usual coffee

hope all goes well today good luck

have done a lot of cooking/baking for various friends alongside coffee mornings etc always put in a fair bit of effort here to ensure that everyones dietry needs are catered for allergies/glutenfree/sugar free etc. would be nice if they like your doing veggie option. hopefully they endeavour to make yourself something fairly lowcarb so included and don't have to perhaps pass on dessert. enjoy ps maybe the env officer not emailing means perhaps wont just be turning up

ps i posted a relatively lowcarb cheesecake recipe a wee while back if enjoy baking perhaps thats something your body could handle Very very light and morish filling

https://sugarfreelondoner.com/low-carb-christmas-pudding/ this maybe worth while if like deserts 8g a portion spotted a few keto recipes for xmas pud in the forum.

Great that you got back home safe. I live in the North East of England, think we were on an amber warning, but it never really came to anything, maybe a bit windy but nothing untoward.

Thank you for sharing your recipes for Christmas pud and lemon cheesecake. I think I have probably made the Christmas pud before. then again, it may have been Carrot Cake. I know I have put blueberries and carrots in a mix. Haven't made it for quite a while, so may visit the recipe again. Your cheesecake recipe looks interesting. Thank you. If I want to treat myself, I sometimes make keto cookie dough. It uses cream cheese, cream, nut butter, cinnamon and sweetener. Its in a book I have that I can't put my hand on at the moment. Plenty of other Keto Cookie dough recipes on the web though and its very low carb. Its very high in calories though. I've actually used the cookie dough recipe to cheat on my cholesterol test following. Dave Feldman's cheat which used to be documented on Cholesterol code webpage. (Been Depracated) What you do is to eat loads of calories for 3 days and it generally brings down your cholesterol levels at least it did for me. The only trouble with doing that is that you put on weight and I can't afford to do that.

The lunch club meal went very well., don't know why I panicked. Closed now for Christmas. The environmental officer arrived just as we had put stuff in the oven that we needed to watch. His visit was good though, he gave us a 5 our of 5. I'm a happy bod!

Another crazy number 6.7. Unexpected but taken in stride. My ultra low carb diet stays in effect.
No fog today, I’ll take that as a win. Still mild, around six degrees. All highways into the interior were closed last night due to the “atmospheric river” that caused flooding and washouts. The joys of winter.
We didn’t get any rain here, ok maybe a few lonely drops. It’s so dreary out but at least you can get out and walk.
Gym today was legs and a bike ride.
Wow, two weeks until Christmas Day…and soon we’ll be in a new year.

fingerprick 5.9 new libre 4.4 (sub 10 hours since activated) reading a little lower, further out than the last one read.

getting some more xmas wrapping done this morning breakfast already had alongside 20 min walk this morning. hip pain is starting to subside slightly. lowerback still pretty tender around where had the injection. making dr's appt (hopefully!) to see if physcologist has written to her to esculated referal more longer term anxiety panic attack from proceedures, alongside other embarasing issue which finally admited defeat from trying non invasive solution (which was told unlikely to have success) tried anyhow for last 10+ months.

Morning everyone. FBG came in at 5.0 mmol/L today—I woke up early to check it while it was still dark out. After a boiled egg and half a cup of black coffee, I’m heading back to bed. The weather is the same as yesterday: sunny but cold. Wishing you all a wonderful day.

6.2 this snowy morning. Two degrees but still snowy….yuk. It’s now almost 11am and the snow continues to fall. I shovelled first thing and will have to go out later. It’s slimy…no gym today but the shovelling will do.
Going to make some keto pecan cookies his afternoon. I love baking when the weather sucks. I use the alldayidreamaboutfood.com website for my recipes. Had great luck so far. Sometimes I can’t get some of the ingredients she uses but I just use the recipes I can.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
