What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Libre 3.3. readings appear to be little more out than normal. At moment it's anyone's guess not fingerpricking again so soon.

5.30am fingerprick 4.7 libre thought 3.4

Drs appt seen by new resident GP who looks very young! He seemed nice friendly and caring. pleased won't see random locums no more. Disappointed and feel sorry for my registered GP he replaced she was a lovely lady late 40s unfortunately diagnosed over year and half ago with something her health went dramatically downhill fast now unable to work.

Referral made for embarrassing topic. have fingers and toes crossed alternative solution rather than what the male gp said would 99 percent be required. Checked position was ok for libre sensor as well which said was fine. Low alarm went off whilst seeing him said 3.2 fingerprick 5.9 at the time.

Be pleased with yourself @mojo37 - you should be for all the effort you must be putting in. Putting me to shame that's for sure.
Don't be daft re putting u to shame ...when I go off piste I eat everything and hang the consequences just trying at the moment to get something in my life under control and thank you for your kind words .

Still suffering only with heavy cold but feel like s**t and not getting out and about as usual. My BS stays relatively high all day probably due to sugary medicines and throat lozenges. Hopefully will get shot of it before Xmas and get things back on track as well as say goodbye to a first thing 8.0

hope you feel better soon plently rest and fluids? careful with any decongestants. which lozengers are you using strepsil has some sugar free strawberry ones. https://groceries.morrisons.com/products/strepsils-sugar-free-strawberry/100696981 Active ingredients: Each lozenge contains 1.2mg of 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl alcohol & 0.6mg of Amylmetacresol. Not sure how you react to maltilol syrup & isomaltitol both supposed to be relatively low glycemic index. ?

Finger prick test six point one ; on contour next ; which I’ve found to be the most accurate meter I’ve come across

Libre says five point two .

I changed sensors a couple of days ago and it’s mainly reading low

ah mine was activated a day ago well says 14 days left. suppose little more askew for first few days, worry is last few that failed been reading low before then switching self off early. still find difficult to put on new sensor. heck of alot better than inititally! even trying emla cream for shorter periods of time to hopefully get more used to (cross cbt/exosure therapy techniques) thats idea behind requiring to do that anyhow. im such a wuss with somethings.

Yea it is kind of weird jabbing yourself with these things but overall i feel and think its a positive thing

I put mine on a day in advance, when the libre warns theres only twenty four hours left. It feels definitely weird having one on each arm for the day but hey ho …

same in advance actually dont notice them whilst on. its the initial insertion have issue with and is a very positive thing indeed so much useful info from using them. rest of time they dont bother me and feel most definately very useful alongside cutting down number of fingerpricks tremendously which imo is way worse.

Spot on. Finger pricking in comparison is basic and a bit barbaric

Mind you they arnt perfect , nor cheap as I have to pay for my own, but in end worth it for me I feel .

The backup and replacement service when they don’t work as intended is second to none. At least none I’ve found

When one day Apple or some other tech company does a watch that does the job I’m all in on it. In the meantime I reckon it’s the best that can be done

I too self fund but have found the sensor to be the only way to go for getting a grip on foods and their effect on BS. My sensor has just expired and I will not be replacing until after Xmas. I will be relying on the dreaded finger prick 4-5 times a day and find that the only true reading is the first one taken when first getting up which is usually 1.5 units higher than sensor. I use that one as my guide for how things are going in general which we post here.
Later finger prick readings depend on times before, after and for how long so are less of an accurate indicator. I tend to find that my annual blood test Hba1c is more aligned to the sensor prediction even though I only fit it maybe 6 months of the year yet I finger prick every day. Thankfully I have yet to encounter a faulty sensor so am quite happy with the reliability, less so for the cost.

6.3 this foggy, snowy morning. No gym, too slippery…so it’s the outdoor gym for me! Driveway, deck, patio, trail around the pond…two hours of shovelling wet snow. Blood sugar was 6.7 before lunch…what! Think my liver was trying to keep me alive because all I had was a cup of coffee this morning.
