Blimey dogslife...not surprised you had a wobble & the shakes yesterday...such a difficult day...so hard not to stress out when we are having tests...hardly a relaxing environment....for anything...particularly biopsies...been in that position myself...nothing like anxiety for rising those BG levels...in the circumstances you did well to contain it...fingers crossed for those results...hope you can/get to relax this weekend.Morning all. 8.7 this morning at 7.50 am. Had 2 lots of wobbles/ shakes yesterday following my biopsy. One was pre- lunch ( directly following my biopsy) so had a carby snack at the hospital just in case. Second was pre early evening meal. Recognised the hypo onset signs ( overheating, wobbling, shaking hands & knees/ hunger) so gobbled a quickly made sandwich/ mini pork pie that I was preparing for my mum at the time. Tested after I'd stopped shaking and was 4+. Retested a short time later and I'd jumped up to 9.8. All over the place! Have a good Friday one and all. Nearly the weekend!
Thanks...they were...but...antibiotics always enhance INR levels...often they drop down when finished...for some reason mine never do...hopefully just a matter of time...then can get back to extending time between appointments.Sorry kid, I thought your INR levels were now starting to behave themselves a bit better. Your results all seemed to be heading in the right direction. The condition doesn't sound like a particularly pleasant cocktail mix to go with your diabetes.
we all have individual goals, my weight is going in the wrong direction at the moment which is why I am trying to go back to the initial successfull eating style ; rather low fat and low carb and few calories... it seems I gain weight very easily from eating high-fat foods... but I have also been bad and not able to go really low carbs so guess the reason is the combination..
well my numbers are seldome under 5.5 mmol and even then my HbA1c is only 34... so if high spiking is okay , I think must be a judgement of ones whole scenario... but what I learned at the diabetes course here in Denmark is that a rise of 2 mmol from what the number was right before the meal is okay and a fine goal to strive for......., well that was the official advice..
but the spiking in itself seems to be damaging too.... so we all have individually to find out at what level we can cope and how high we´ll accept our spiking to be... I don´t care that much myself... but maybe that will backfire in the long run when it comes to the bad progress of this evil disease.

3 this morning, one more low and I will have to adjust my pump. If the Man flu doesn't get me, the hypo will!!!! don't you just love diabetes
Thanks for your kind words, Bubbsie. It all seemed to go well and the hospital staff were very reassuring so I'm going to put it all behind me and try to relax as you say.Blimey dogslife...not surprised you had a wobble & the shakes yesterday...such a difficult day...so hard not to stress out when we are having tests...hardly a relaxing environment....for anything...particularly biopsies...been in that position myself...nothing like anxiety for rising those BG levels...in the circumstances you did well to contain it...fingers crossed for those results...hope you can/get to relax this weekend.

good morning all
4.8 today
feeling a bit better today after starting to feel queasy during the morning yesterday, (not like me), I felt 'off' all day, a short walk helped a bit but it was not a comfy feeling at all. It's lashing down here, cold and windy and Mr gee has just gone out to do his 'charity' helping day, so, I think I'll have a quiet day today and catch up with some mending and alterations
Hi quintet
Don't get despondent about it all it does take time to get the BG levels down your gp or diabetic nurse will probably help you determine what amounts of insulin you need to attain this. Good Luck. K
Ask for help on here so many with good advice, don't keep silent and disheartened use the on line help from this site. K
Hi Freema have you ever heard the story about the tortoise and the hare, slowly does it like the tortoise not a race like the hare,I've been steadily losing a pound or two monthly over 2 years sometimes more sometimes little. I go on holiday and diet goes out the window, then a few months down the line I'm back into it.
I fast from 5.30 pm to lunch time following day then eat around 11 - 1 pm, now introducing a few carbs to find my level, and a main meal around 5 pm due to husbands working hours.
So far I've lost 3 stone just doing this and I did LCHF for a while, now I'm doing low fat low carbs due to raised cholesterol and gout.
I try and succeed most days to do without any sweet foods and have a treat at weekends if I feel like it, the craving for sweet things goes less after a couple of weeks and mostly vanished after a month. I realise one size doesn't fit all but I needed to be in control of my BG levels and the weight loss was a bonus of this. Could never lose weight before trying these things out and my BG level for me is fine 5s to low 6s. We do what works for us we just have to work out what foods we can tolerate to achieve this.
I'm sure you'll get the weight off and wish you well, take care K
Oh how wonderful something positive to look forward to how far are you?Thank you for your kind wordsI feel I'm only so disheartened as I'm pregnant and don't want to harm my little ones. Hopefully today my consultant can advise! Maybe the pump will be the route for me soon

Fabulous do keep us informed Wow twins. KYes absolutely! It's something I wish I was enjoying more but my diabetes is always in the back of my mind. I'm almost 4 months with twins so hopefully in a few more weeks I'll be able to relax and enjoy! Will certainly keep you all posted if you like!
It's interesting to me that you have epilepsy.I was diagnosed about thirty years ago with epilepsy and retired early from my job when it began to affect me more.I wasn't on any medication but thinking that would be the next step .....and had a bad seizure away from home and was taken to hospital by ambulance. They found I had diabetes! The strange thing is since that awful day I have been seizure free, and still don't have medication for it.The doctors just don't know(and aren't particularly interested) in why this has happened......so sorry you have had these problems, hope you get things sorted soon.I have epilepsy which I've been managing seizure free for almost fifteen years. I've been seeing the same neurologist every year for years now. How this was my first time seeing her as a diabetic. I have some weakness in my legs, which was present prior to going into the hospital. I actually think they're a little better, and getting stronger. But my neurologist performed a through exam, and she was concerned enough to refer my to enough specialist whose a top expert in her field here in Toronto. So I will be seeing her ASAP.
Toronto has grown so much, I don't like driving around it as much as I use to. We were lucky to leave the city, and head home well a head of the really heavy traffic during rush hour.
Thanks for the well wishes Kathleen.
