It’s a factor I think in why I’m here in the first place: a heady mix of long hours, stress and constantly changing locations fuelled by ****** canteens, hotel food, petrol station snacks, vending machines , caffeine and alcohol. I look at the bright eyed kids coming into our profession and then at my fellow veterans and I see the toll it takes. I’m not complaining- I’m well paid for a job I enjoy doing: that’s something to be thankful for.
