What was your highest HBA1C reading ?

91 and my bloods were at 22 I’ll be interested to see if it has come down after 3 months still can’t believe I have it hope your doing okay x

My highest HbA1c was 108 mmol/mol ..the stepwise addition of oral agents delivered only ✻mediocre✻ improvements.

110 reading when tested prior to cataract op that they cancelled saying i need to be below 60, currently having added Insulin to me treatment and following a no sugar ,lo carb diet I have a projected Ha1bc of aroung 49...hopefully this will get me approved for the op

86 when diagnosed, refused metformin and researched intensely on how to reverse via diet and exercise. Down to 34 and officially in remission within 6 months. Lost 4 stone following low carb/keto and intermittent fasting. Headaches, aches and pains, vision blurriness all improved massively within a matter of weeks of dropping carb intake to 20-40g a day. Slipped off track once or twice a month along the way - key for me was changing mindset and not letting one instance turn into giving up altogether.

Diagnosed at 87, reduced to in the 60s with keto and low carb alone, put on 40mg gliclazide and had hba1c around 40 for 3 years. Then it all went wrong. Last a1c was 66, shortly after that had a horrible couple of months with BGs in the 20s, was put onto insulin, all meds stopped. Awaiting a repeat a1c Nov/Dec time.

104 now down to 44. Glic cut
but still on Sitagliptin which I hate. Hope I can ditch that too in 6 months.
Was losing weight slowly but steadily (carbs 140ish) but now plateauing which is frustrating.
Evil diabetic nurse has called me for checks & blood tests & I only had them 3 weeks ago! Maybe she doesn’t believe the results?

The plateau-ing is normal. You'll soon be on your way again.

122 when checked at routine health check and then diagnosed

When I was first diagnosed (1980) I presume it was well into the 100s but they never told you things like that back then ( well if they did I wasn’t listening ) just about had bs taken , definitely not a personal blood sugar test.my Hb1ac ran in the high 90s and above for many many years there was no excuse for it other than myself, all that came at a cost , where I had 2 legs I now have one ( well one and a half but whose counting lol) , also heart attack and kidneys that work at 12. % function , after medical retirement and a bit of the nut being screwed my Hb1 ac now it’s at around 53 so I’m happy , it takes many years of high bloods to get to my position , but I’m still here and able to carry on life without much hassle, i never ever let diabetes or my other conditions get me down , there are far worse things out there ,

126 but I already lost if I’d have known Angela was going to diss me, I’d have drank a coke on the way to hospital

I have a strong family history of type 2 diabetes and at one time was always thirsty. Whenever away from home, a friend and I took advantage of public conveniences. So much so, it became a source of some amusement with others in our circle. The friend had been diagnosed with type 2, but still the penny didn't drop.

I still vividly remember the shock when told, whilst in hospital undergoing treatment for something else, that I was diabetic. A finger prick test recorded >18 mmol/L and my HbA1c was 110 mmols/mol.

This week's HbA1c result was 35 mmol/mol.

Currently 76. Best 54 in December 2018 - aiming to reach that again with the next 3 months.

48 at diagnosis which rose to 54 after starting statins and dropped to 43 within 6 months of stopping statins!
