When I was first diagnosed (1980) I presume it was well into the 100s but they never told you things like that back then ( well if they did I wasn’t listening ) just about had bs taken , definitely not a personal blood sugar test.my Hb1ac ran in the high 90s and above for many many years there was no excuse for it other than myself, all that came at a cost , where I had 2 legs I now have one ( well one and a half but whose counting lol) , also heart attack and kidneys that work at 12. % function , after medical retirement and a bit of the nut being screwed my Hb1 ac now it’s at around 53 so I’m happy , it takes many years of high bloods to get to my position , but I’m still here and able to carry on life without much hassle, i never ever let diabetes or my other conditions get me down , there are far worse things out there ,
