I could of course be in denial and think somehow I have failed and taking 2 tablets is the slippy slope to a lifetime of more and more pills
Yes I really lost my appetite when I started on Metformin. I was already a skinny minnie and because I was not eating enough I did loose weight that I didn't need to With my doctors approval I have now decreased my dosage to one 500gm of the slow release Metformin a day and my appetite has started to come back. I really think I had forgotten what it felt like to feel hungry abut I am beginning to feel it again nowmetformin as I know do help the best when you eat something... ... you blood glucose level is fine, but then again you hardly eat...
I lost my appetite when getting the chock of diabetes myself , but slowly after some weeks I started to relax a bit... If you are overweight you could use this period to loose some kg...
but do think you must tell the nurse how litlle you eat, as it gives a wrong picture if the metformin is adequate or not...
usually diabetic 2 do not get too low as their insuline is not working good enough to get glucose down that low... metformine does not in itself get blood glucose that low...but then again you do not eat much ...
how high was your blood glucose initially..?
oh it is the metformine taking away your appetite.... well most troubles with metformin goes away after some weeks ...
