Hello everyone,
Just after a bit of advice and opinion form those much more experienced than I!
My daughter (6) has had flu and has been off school all week having been quite poorly. As you can imagine, her levels have been all over the place and she has had ketones constantly, ranging from 0.5 up to 3.3.
She's much better in herself now but those bloody ketones just aren't shifting. They drop right down early on in the day (having done correction doses during the night) and are fine when she's drinking lots but they creep up again as the day goes on, and over night.
I am happy that we're doing all of the right things but just wondered what everyone would do school wise, if she's the same come Monday and going back to school. Do I just judge it entirely on her general health? I don't know how quickly the situation can deteriorate and I can't be on her case all day at school about drinking! Also, they won't know what to do with the correction doses & illness button etc. though I could teach them or go in myself to do jabs?
What would everyone else do?
Hope all this makes sense.
