Hi I need some help, my blood reading before food/drink was 7.7mmol, after taking metformin and eating/drinking I get dizzy and headaches so did another reading and was 4.6mmol, is it normal. Been on metformin for 9yrs with no problems or symptoms, I've got type 2.

Hi @bjnobby, of course not everything is related to diabetes :) , but if you don't mind me asking, what is your typical diet like, for instance, what do you normally eat during the day? And my second question is when you test your blood sugars are you testing just before you eat and 2 hours after food? Just so members have an idea of some if your routines around food and testing.

Hi I normally have fresh fruit and plain yogurt for breakfast, a two slice wholemeal sandwich with salad for lunch and grilled chicken and veg for tea. I have diverticular disease so have to be very careful what I eat. I don't normally do a test but I was worried about the dizziness and headaches, I only have one hba1c test done a year as my doctor said I only need one as bloods are 6.1-6.9 and have been told they are fine, just to keep taking 1x500mg metformin a day.
