Evening everyone

Just wanted to get a straw-poll on what you think will be offered to me next and advice to consider.

I am currently on:
1000mg in the am and again at night
Alogliptin 25mg which I take at night else I vomit horrendously
Empagliflozin 10mg once a day in the am

I take other meds for other conditions; my diabetes is not under control due to my other health conditions and I frequently feel nauseous/vomit after taking meds in the morning.
My recent results were HA1C 82 mmol/mol which is better than it was in January but up a bit since June. As a result of my bloods I have a review in 2 weeks. What do you think they will advise next??
TIA

Hi @Abseil1212 , welcome to the forum.

Apart from all your medication, have you changed your diet in any way because of your diabetes?
All carbs turn to glucose in your body, so many of our members have chosen to adopt a low carb style of eating, with good results.

Some of my other health conditions have improved or resolved from low carbing, typically under 50 carbs a day, preferably for me about 20. My bp is now normal all bp meds have been stopped, inflammatory back pain resolved and diabetic medications are in process of being reduced, not increased and my asthma is much closer to being controlled. You don’t say what your other health conditions are but it may be worth seriously considering changing diet, you never know. I was getting close to being started on insulin as most other medications they had tried had stopped working. Typical advice for the eatwell plate really shoots my blood sugars up and to find out what foods do to yourself testing is before and after meals is essential. Let us know what you decide and what happens.
