Im 24 been diabetic for 12 years on a intense course to get my sugara down been on levemir for about 3 weeks now used to be on lantus (which was rubbish) the nurse said if i can get my levels to 5.9 everyday i could start a family "problem... since a year ago my body and mind was so messed up id never seen my sugars any lower than 15 even on a gd day so a hypo was 7 to me!! " so to see my sugar levels drop dramatically i almost didnt wana believe it... tho it was short lived i wake up with sugars in the 20s by bed time they drop to 5 and the cycle continues my question is whats normal blood sugars to happily live with and start a family with i feel very alone sometimes thinking im failing all time because i cant get them to 5 ! i can get to 8 and below but very high in morning help

Hi miss_lady_pink. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble and feeling down. I'm no expert on the numbers but this is a good rundown on hypo for diabetics: http://www.healthline.com/health/type-2-diabetes/hypoglycemia
I used it to learn about it for my husband, and it has been helpful, although it doesn't give very specific suggestions about numbers, etc. I hope it helps, though, in telling whether you really were hypo when you thought you were, etc. I don't know that there is a magic number for starting a family but I hope you can lower your numbers to a level that your GP thinks it is safe enough to try a pregnancy. You can do it!
