Whats the first record/CD you bought ?

First album I bought with my own money was Wings greatest hits when I was 13 from windows in Newcastle. A few weeks later I was in the Virgin store that had opened in Eldon Sq and this high pitched wailing came on the what's playing now. It was Geddy Lee from Rush and with my hasty purchase of Hemispheres a love of rock music was born. All my tmes were into punk and new wave so for ages I was swimming against the tide till I started going to rock discos in my mid teens.

You'll be surprised by this one; ABBA, The Album!
Although the preferred track is:
How many of you got it within 3 seconds?

I wonder which 78 rpm Eddie will come up with as his first record bought.

Dancing queen, a real floor filler!

Listening to Alicia keys!

Now David Ruffins, 'One More For The Lonely Hearts Club'

Music is loved the whole world over and I have thoroughly enjoyed all the fabulous posts on here, just wonderful guys

That's great info and some solid beats. In my younger days(ahem!) we did Top Rank in Liverpool and I think I remember doing Wigan but went to other discos all over the North West.
My collection is vast and I struggle to name them unless I hear or think of artists and their music. I have explored high and low for rare tracks of the genre artists and I'm always looking for more if I like them.
The scene was a great learning curve for me and my nous and humour ( behave!) came from the streetwise mods or even the skinheads from this big city of mine!
I can remember a time when ski heads were famous for their outlook on race, ethnicity, and there love of black music and culture.
Not the modern medias view!

Really good days

Anyone been to the Twisted Wheel ?
I always wanted to go and never managed to .
