Type 1 diabetics also suffer from gastroparesis where nerve damage delays the emptying of the stomach causing unexpected highs later on and possibly low blood sugars immediately.I've been taking Omeprazole for the past 5 years for stomach acid reflux issues and am concerned that the delay in digestion is causing my blood sugars to increase a few hours after eating and after my fast acting insulin has been most effective. Has anyone else noticed this?
Sounds very much like GastroparesisObviously meant 3hrs!
