Hi
I've recently been diagnosed T2, I take two metformin AM and PM and am just wondering when the best time is to take the evening dose. On diagnosis I was started on 1 tablet after breakfast for a week and then add second tablet 'in the evening'. I've been taking it as I go to bed, usually abt 2 hours after I've eaten. Is there a best / better time to take the second dose?

It's recommended to take it with your meals to reduce any side effects.
welcome to the site and ask lots of questions as you go

Thank you! Such a quick response, much appreciated. As I read more and more it feels a bit daunting but this forum is great!! Really helped already in the short time I've been snooping around topics

relax. you don't have to know everything in the first week here
I saw on your profile you had a bit during your pregnancy, Has it been said that you may find it resolves when the baby weights gone?

The consultant said with food.

Definitely with or just after food for the reasons Jack has given you, and that is also what the information leaflets in my metformin packs say!
