thanks Peter

I try and never exercise with 90 mins of my previous bolus dose, even then I reduce the dose by a third so that I don't hypo. I only really walk or cycle for 60-90 mins so nothing too strenuous like you Peter, my food of choice when exercising or afterwards is the good old banana.

Eating late at 9.15 shouldn't be a problem as long as you understand that exercise can effect bg for up to 24 hours after exercise, if your waking bg is fine and your sure your not having hypo's in the night then continue as you are, just remember to always check your bg before sleeping.

Not sure if you've seen this website but Runsweet has loads of useful info and advice for type 1's:

like noblehead, I never exercise within a 2 hour time frame of a bolus. I tend to do my workouts in the morning before work and then have breakfast afterwards however, I used to train at night and then i would often not get to eat tea until about 8-9pm. There's nothing wrong with this, just be carefull overnight, make sure that you have had enough carbs to keep your sugars stable and avoid any hypos :D

Well I actually try to exercise 45-90min after eating, as it really flattens out my post meal BG rise. I do reduce my bolus by 40-50% depending on how intensely I'll be exercising & for how long. I check my BG before exercising & after 30min, if it's below 7 I take in some carbs but only usually need about 10-15g & don't generally go hypo. I do 45-70min cardio at 75-85% of max heart rate & use lucozade or dextrose energy for carbs.
