Hi,
Would love to know when people take their Dapagliflozin? I’m a type 2, was prescribed dapa in January, but didn’t get any direction on how to take it. At the moment, I take 1000mg of metformin in the morning and another 1000mg of metformin at dinner with 10mg of Dapagliflozin. What are your experiences? Thank you!

Let me rephrase; I have read the leaflet and know you can take it at any time of day, but what I want to know is, based on others experiences, when’s the best time to take it to keep glucose levels as stable as possible?

I terms of optimising for your BG levels, you will need to look at your own individual trends and see where you need to introduce the medication for the best effect, but also good idea to check in with your health provider. Generally, Dapagliflozin takes 2 hours to kick in. Also, keep in mind that it can increase urination, so it's probably not a good idea to take it before bed. I used to take first thing in the morning when I was on it.

Edit: fix typos

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Yes, I’m starting to think it’s better to take in the morning so it works throughout the day whilst eating. After a couple months on the drug, I never really struggled with getting up to go to the toilet in the night (did at first). My decision to take it in the evening was based around higher BG reading in the mornings; I thought it would lower them, but it hasn’t. I think I will try mornings now and see if that works better. Have just got a Libre 2 as well, so can monitor effectively.
