When to go on Insulin?

At what point will I need to go on insulin? some say that once 2500 mg of Metformin are not sufficient to control the BG

I tried various combinations of metformin, sitagliptin, gliclazide, byetta and victoza before i ended up on insulin. There are many additions to metformin, your gp or dsn can give you the best advice.
