Hello, need some more advice or opinions please :)

Decided to brave a day out with the kids yesterday as my daughters levels seemed to be stabilising during the week, went to a zoo via 3 trains to save the tiring long drive so she was excited but i don't know how much that affected her levels or if i misjudged the carbs - used my newly owned carbs and cals book with the pictures.
I will list test results and times and food, carbs and insulin, if anyone can give me their opinion i would be very grateful as i haven't a clue what went on

6:35am - 9.4 had 10units Levemir & 5units Novorapid, 4 for 40g carbs & 1 to lower to 5.4
10:45am - 3.7 felt low on train, had haribo & fruit bar total 26g carbs which should have upped her to 8.7 which would then drop slightly by lunch with the walking
12:30pm - 10.7 had 8units of Novorapid to cover estimated 115g carbs: yahoo milkshake 10g, jacket potato 45g, baked beans 10g, big white choc chip cookie 50g
3:10pm - 8.7 so i assumed i'd guessed lunch about right as i did not correct the 10.7
5:30pm - 13.6, i guessed this rise was due to running around playing in the park for an hour and excitement about going home on the trains.
She had the usual 14units of Levemir and 11 units of Novorapid, 9 to cover estimated 178g carbs and 2 to lower to 5.6: cheese baguette 90g, crisps 17.5g, choc chip cookie 50g, bottle of oasis 20.5g - i only had to guess the baguette and cookie using the book.
8:20pm - 5.6, i assumed i guessed right for dinner on train so sent her to bed.
10:20pm - 12.8
3am - 17.0
7:30am - 14.5

Thanks in advance for your opinions/suggestions

I think two things going on, some of the foods she was eating durning the day were slow adsorbers, such as the cheese ect, so perhaps these were still playing catch up in the night..

But I suspect as well she still had the adrenalin (sp) still pumping around her from what sounds like a very exciting family day out, during the day you were correcting and she was probably burning it off, maintaining better levels then once she went to bed it all kicked back in..

Not sure how what to suggest about what to do next time as it's difficult to make a decission based on one outing out and being that nighttime looks like it may be a problem, not wise to over correct and causea nighttime hypo..

Perhaps next time, take a BG in the night and do a cautious correction, aim to take the BG down a bit but keeping in mind she may drop quite a bit, as the adrenalin wears off..

Thanks for your reply jopar :)

I was not 100% sure i had estimated all the carbs right but i thought going by her tests that i maybe not far out.
I had expected her to have gone up a bit when i went to bed but not by that much and that 3am test was a big shock, i did think about giving novorapid at 3am but not being sure how much she might drop i decided to leave it and correct in the morning.
I do sometimes wonder if that dinnertime injection in the evening might be better done after eating rather than before as some nights she does go up a bit after going to bed.

Today has not gone quite as expected, just been at home not done anything too active
7:30am - 14.5, had usual 10units Levemir & 1.5units Novorapid to lower to 8.5
8:30am - 14.8, had 3 units Novorapid to cover 30g carbs: toast for breakfast
10:50am - 5.4
12:30pm - 4.3, had 3.5units after eating to cover 56.3g carbs

Will be interesting to see what happens later today.

I didn't do any night testing thursday or friday night as we were both tired from the youngest being sick all night thursday night but i am going to go back to testing when i go to bed about 10pm and again at 3am to see what is happening overnight.
