How much carb/day are you eating Connie your results are not typical of LCHF! Your HDL should be 1.5 or more and your trigs down well below 2. Did they not do your GGT btw? Your potassium is well up which may be your diet....good for bp! atb Derek
I eat oily fish maybe twice a week can't stand olives and use extra virgin olive oils . Not a great nut eater but would try nut oils . I do eat peanut butter with
no added sugar .
I am so strict with my diet that my husband thinks I'm obsessive about it and it has worked with regard to my blood glucose just not the cholesterol !
rapeseed oil is also a good oil and coconut-oil which is much better than animal fats... if nothing else helps I would cut out animal fats of all kinds... and eat very Little cream and butter too... coconut-fat/oil and coconut is also a saturated fat but contains no cholesterol at all in contrary to all the animal fats and eggyolk
I agree about rapeseed oil for frying. More Omega 3 than olive oil and a better balance with omega 6 I believe. Lidl sell the extra virgin variety but it is expensive. However, cholesterol-containing foods such as eggs have so little effect, if any, on our body cholesterol it isn't worth considering. Our bodies make the vast majority of our cholesterol, it does not come from eating it.
Thanks blue tit I missed it at the bottom initially. D.GGT? Gamma GT? It says 17, which is well normal.
Your diet should get your bloods right eventually. GGT is given off by the liver and could indicate fatty liver disease but yours is excellent . It is an indicator of metabolic syndrome and a predictor of heart attacks . I wish mine was even twice what yours is Connie. Get the cold pressed rapeseed oil at lidl it is c.£2 / bottle the cheap stuff has been heat treated and is foul! atb D.I try and eat no more than between 30 /40 grams a day some days less . Use butter full fat Greek yogurt full fat mayo all the recommended things also eat a small avocado every day
Sorry but what is GGT ?
Next time I'm in Lidl I will have a look for the rapeseed oil. Also cut down on the animal fats etc and see how it goes . It will be interesting to see what the pharmacist says on the 18 th November I doubt if she will prescribe the new drugs for people who can't take Statins (Repatha and Praluent) as they cost more than Statins and it's always the cost !
