We bought an Aviva Nano today, and the husband managed to break it within half an hour. (Newly diagnosed, not a clue ehat he's doing yet). He pulled out the finger pricker barrel thing and then tried to shove it back in - and of course it won't go back in !
So he now has only 1 unit with 5 needles in it. We need to know where do you buy your new ones ?

I presume that this is the Accu-Chek Multiclix lancet device we are talking about ?

If so you do not remove the lancet drum until you have used all the lancets. It will not go back in once you have inserted it and then removed it. So you need to throw that one away and put another new one in which should work fine. There are usually more than one with the device ?
You can buy them from your local Pharmacy.

Ken.

TY Ken. Yes you get 2 in the pack with the Aviva Nano. Sorry I wasn't sure what they were called, and god knows what he was doing fiddling with it anyway ! Ok, we need to go back to Boots then.
sigh...

Is your husband like mine
won't read the instructions untill it's too late?
Don' t let him get away with it again. Hold on to the thing until you've read and absorbed the booklet.
It's the only way.
Hana
Ps I don't have a nano, so don't know how it works, but I'm an inveterate instruction reader

 Is yours a Virgo as well ? LOL ! He is too impatient and always grabs things off me, thinks he knows better. But we just had another tantrum because he wanted to test before his supper and it came up ERROR.
Isn't this going to be fun...

Call customer services. They will replace it for free - they make all the money on strips and designer lancets. They will also keep you supplied with the batteries and test solutions for free.

The instructions are overlong and boring - but they *are* all-encompassing so they do need reading. The first thing I found was that the info on errors was less obvious! If you don't get enough blood on the strip within 5 secs you've lost the game. And it seems you may have to turn it off before you can put another in without getting an error - but I haven't tried that twice so that's supposition.

Some people on here have suggested using each lancet more than once - the first is already set when you insert the pack, so you wouldn't need to turn the end 'there and back' to get the first one ready. That saves one! Using them more than once saves money of course. Good luck - my hubby doesn't read instructions either (I won't quote the washing machine incident!).
