Where to buy Test Strips...just to suggest ONLINE is not enough of an answer....In the UK trying to buy Accu Chek Aviva 50 test strips has a multitude of various offers with different delivery dates, obviously an overseas seller. .viewing the AMAZON website or just Googling for an answer still gives multi offers but there are comments about sell by date. I don't test often or repeatedly, I have T2 with an almost healthy Hba1c level and I try to keep to all those wrong things like Quavers, Ginger Biscuits, Coffee, occasional Cream Horns to a once a week treat. When a medical person says "eat a sensible diet" I find my annoyance levels rise as due to what I consider a poor answer, so back to where I should buy said Test Strips....online or pre-order still does not le me check the expiry date, but I ask....is it so important....how long do you consider out of date to be.....

It's important to me, but not everybody. After my next blood test, I intend to experiment with adding small amounts of different foods to see what spikes and what doesn't. After that, I need to keep a watching brief on my BG for life. This empowers me and I don't have to rely on the idiot information from my DN. I want to keep her on board, but this Board is much better for information and support.

Count the Carbs up to 130 gms per day and test at 30, 60, and 90 minutes after a meal is part of the way forward

Nothing wrong with coffee from my point of view other than "experts" reckon too much is bad for you....not sure if there is sound medical opinion to confirm that statement, I enjoy my coffee and having 3-4 cups per day....my grief is trying to buy Aviva Test Strips from a dodgy dealership and find the quantity I buy exceeds the sell by date because I am not a regular tester. Never have I considered those who cannot get hold of the strips in their fingers, sorry to those who do have problems, but I therefore guess I am fairly lucky in that respect. Those who live alone and struggle with small pots of Strips will have difficulties, I never knew other methods as explained earlier existed with the various Blood testing equipment....learnt something today !!

Go to a pharmacist with a large turnover of customers, I have never had out of date strips in the seven years I have been getting strips to the pharmacist I go to.

When I used to into the actual bricks mortar pharmacy I used to look at the use by date while waiting to get served at the checkout. As I now now order online through their app, and when it's delivered by the delivery woman I open the bag to see what the date is.

If you shop at small village pharmacy with a low turnover it's a good chance you are going to get out of date stuff.

Phew thought I'd missed something.. I'd ignore the 'experts" in this case and enjoy my coffee (usually with some double cream)
