Hi
I am a diabetic and my doctor suggested me to use Glucometers for regularly cheeking the glucose levels in my blood . Could any of us suggest me a good one in the market. I've heard Onetouch and Accu-chek are the best. So of those which one should i buy? Please help me

Hi karthikn.
Welcome to the forum.

Meters....it really does all depend on what you awnt to do. I have used the Accu-Chek Aviva for years with no problems, lets me download results to my PC as well. Pretty basic functions. I have also used Bayer meters again, all good.

Newer meter such as the One Touch UltraSmart by Lifescan take this to the other extreme, logging of all sorts of thing, excercise, health, medication, food including carb counting ?
Basic or advanced, they are all good. All built to EC standards. So all pretty much the same internally. Do you want a 'funky' looking one ? A small one, a backlit readout ?

Do a websearch on Glucose Testing Meters - see the results. Then have a look in the larger Pharmacies and see what suits you, sizes, colours, readouts, it goes on.
